To be fair, at least he scored a pretty damn nice lob against the Mancs. That almost makes up for how bad he was in every other game. Almost.

Not forgetting the one he smashed in against Real in the 4-0 embarrassment.

Did he also score against Madrid? It's all coming back to me now that lob was tasty

Fabio was just another player that didn't fulfil his potential.
I can understand the reasons for buying him, young, Italian international, but will go down as yet another failure.

Failure in terms of playing time and having an impact on the squad, but unlike some, we've actually managed to recoup our money on him if all clauses are activated.

This makes John Henry very happy.

Makes the net spend look fantastic! (from Hong Henry's point of view)

I assume the money saved will go towards the new stand then.

Ah yes, but the comment was made in the context of

      Borini
      Balotelli
      Aquilani
      Dossena

I'd take a few Italians, still. He is definitely not one i'd like back.

Never seen such an inept striker. He can't shot, isn't quick, can't pass and his movement resembles a baby just finding his feet. The lad grafts but pay me millions and i'd run all F***ing day.

Sunderland have been mugged off paying that much for him.

I remember saying before we signed him that he wasn't good enough.

      The response?

"Well he made it into the Italian national team squad at the 2012 Euros, he MUST be good!"

I mean F***ing hell, how thick do you have to be...

it's actually quite serious.  We have limited resources at our club.  When signings don't come off we can't just have the owners write us a blank cheque like they can at City or Chelsea.  So we have to be incredibly careful with who we bring in because we can't afford for it not to work.

By the time he came to us, he had already played for FOUR different clubs by the age of 21.  That doesn't raise a red flag to you?  as if his mediocrity in playing for those clubs wasn't enough already.  Being picked for your national team doesn't necessarily mean anything.  F***ing hell even Stewart Downing got picked for England when he was playing for us, whilst showing game after game that he too was one of the worst signings we've ever made.

And yet people used that as a stick, "hey Borini must be good, Rodgers likes him and he's been picked for the Euros," etc etc.  Lo and behold, it turns out he was indeed sh*te, cost us a ridiculous fee plus his wages plus time trying to bed him into a side he was never good enough for.

And the people who made THAT decision are the same people who are making the decisions TODAY.

      that doesn't worry you---okay then.

Surely you can express your opinion with always lambasting everyone in the process? You're angry, we get that. Does that mean you've got to constantly belittle and disregard?

Rogers must be one hell of a manager to get us so far up the table with mid table rubbish for players.
