      Like my mate just said.

It's fitting he wins a big tournament while representing GB. Because he doesn't have to deal with the 'is he English, is he Scottish' talk.

Today he well and truly is British. And that's what matters.

Great performance. He must really want to win the doubles now.

You know it's a special Olympics for Great Britain when Andy Murray wins the biggest title of his career so far. I am so relieved and happy for him. Just wait till you get your gold medal Andy. That will be the moment for you!

      Delighted for Andy!

But the english media will be unbearable now. The same people that called him "Scotland's Andy Murray" when things weren't so rosy.

I think that's a bit of a myth exaggerated by us Scottish folk in all honesty.

I'm not the worlds biggest tennis fan so it's not something that I'd follow relentlessly. But watching sport on the news I think there has been horrible pressure on this lad his whole career. And when he hasn't lived up to expectation I think he has been Scottish more than british. I'm not saying it happens every time but it's a trait of modern media to distance themselves from the "losers".
