That's a stronger side than I expected.  Glad to see it.  I do hope that Sterling and Shelvey get some game time.

Hope Borini can last 90 minutes, he's our only striker.

The problem is that Downing always looks good against poor opposition, but poor against quality teams like the ones in the Prem.  He always looked good in the FA Cup and Carling Cup matches when we were playing Championship and League One level opposition. 

I would have thought Shelvey would have been in the starting line up, still quite an attacking player to have on the bench.

It looks that way. Not confident. Agger and Carroll on the way out + a Gomel win would make this a disastous week!

It's going to be a long season fellow forumites.

We are wearing red tonight instead of that awful 3rd kit, hopefully a sign of better things ahead.

No idea mate, but if he had played well last season I would be worried he was being sold.

I've got a feeling we're gonna struggle to get on the scoresheet tonight. Just have that feeling it's going to be one of those boring games that deflates you after building up to it all day.

Having said that, we should be coming home with a victory under our belt with it being a competitive game. I'll be disappointed if we don't.

We should go out to win every competitive game we play in.
