Very much looking forward to this, can't wait to get the season started, 38 games (excluding all cup games) seems a massive number an an eternity until it will be may again but unfortunately it always disappears too quickly, let's hope we start this season right and really push on to where we should be under our new management.

Unfortunately the games not on tv though, a stream will have to do.

Firstly, kudos to Benito for starting the season with a properly constructed OP in the pre-match thread (kick off date &  time plus club crests a brief introduction) 

Who cares that Bromwich is spelt wrong? 

Secondly, how great is it to see the first league pre-match thread of the new season?!! 

Think we'll get an easy 3 points here. Our footy has been quite good and positive unlike last season.

Sadly I'll probably miss this seeing as it's my nephews 1st Birthday haha

The reds have been traditionaly slow starters, but due to the olympics and new signings plus a new manager.Think we will come out flying on all cylinders, this team is showing excellent chemistry already. Goals are coming easily in the last two games, and see that continueng,With new additions like borini linking well with saurez and brendan getting the players to play as a team. See a scoreline of 3-0

Team pretty much picks itself doesn't it. Only question is whether Joe Allen comes straight in or does Jonjo keep his place int he starting line-up. So excited for the start of the season altho i'm glamping with the mrs at the weekend so won't be able to follow the game live. We dopn't traditionally do great job on the opening day of the season so here's hoping for a better start. I fancy us to win it 2-0 with Suarez and Gerrard bagging the goals.

Think we will start the way we want to continue with a comfortable 2-0 away win. Suarez looks almost unplayable at the moment, Gerrard looks like he is fitter than he has been for a couple of years. Only worry for me is I don't think we have sorted out our goalscoring problem yet  and still need to add more firepower to our lineup.

We need a better, much more dangerous player in Downing's position. Hopefully Borini will nick a few goals in and around the box but if he struggles we will be lacking goalscorers once again this year. I still think Carroll will go back to Newcastle so we need another striker lined up if he does, preferably a real poacher.

Can't see Allen starting but other than that peoples team selections seem spot on.

I think we'll score, but am worried about how our defence has looked at times so far so wouldn't be surprised if WBA scored a few....

I think 3-1, couple for Luis and Gerrard.

Getting closer and getting excited, I love the start of a brand new season, everyone's equal (sort of  )

We beat WBA away by 2-0, goals from Charlie Adam (pen) and Andy Carroll last season. So I wouldn't say no to a repeat scoreline

Any one would think I was Irish with a formation like that.

Shelvey will start for me. Think we'll nick a couple of early goals and their confidence will crumble.

Allen to come on for 30 or so minutes just to sure up the midfield and keep possession in our favour.

Hopefully a good cameo from Sterling off the bench wouldn't go amiss.

Oooh now we've started the season, the goosebumps when I saw this thread. Can't wait. Come on redmen!

I'm looking forward to the game, again in anticipation at the start of a new season. We'll be a completely different team this season in my opinion. We've moved away from the Hodgson era of team shape, discipline and organisation, although he is very much regarded as a legend down here. We're looking forward to seeing Clarke and how he adapts and also the return of the possession game which is what we're associated with. We lost that slightly under Roy. So far in pre season the emphasis has been on ball retention and movement and our signings of Lukaku and Rosenberg indicate Clarke will continue with his preferred 433.

Our team, I cannot say at the moment but I shall have a rough guess providing there are no injuries during these ridiculous internationals.
