If Sahin came out and said, I thank BR he is a top manager. Everyone would be praising that Sahin is a top player who didn't fit in.

But he didn't he started mouthing off. So I think people are entitled to say F**k off Nuri you moaning dick.

I told him to F**k as well.

But some people are berating his abilities on the pitch, too.

Amazing how throwing a bit of criticism BR's way changes peoples opinion of Sahin

Hard not to though, never looked like he got the pace of the league and looked really slow at times when he did play.

Main thing is though, we got shut and imo replaced him with a better player.

Funny thing is though there were quite a few on here who were praising him to high heaven a couple of years back, bit different when you get to see that player up close!!

      Not at all.

Play Coutinho as a center half and I bet he doesn't impress.

I'm not even sure why we brought him in if we didn't do our work on him and know where he plays. He plays deep in midfield. Not a number 10. It'd be like playing Alonso off Suarez. Just out of position.

Sahin is a very good player and rated all across Europe for a reason.

But clearly he needs to keep his F***ing mouth shut.

Can't be rated all across Europe or surely he would of got more games for Madrid, there is a reason apart from just an injury why he didn't play that many games for Madrid.

Play Coutinho at centre-half and you'd be a bit of a cracked c**t don't you think. Sahin played well in maybe two or three games at best for us and then got moved on.

He didn't play because of one Xabi Alonso. You might know him.

And Coutinho at center half is out position much like Sahin playing in the hole.

      Cracking c**t eh

The sensational headline sets the tone for this. I can understand a younger player trying to explain why it appears he's failed to make an impact.

I was excited when we signed him on loan. Maybe both Rodgers and Sahin thought that Gerrard would have needed more of a rest - obviously not the case with him playing so much to good effect this season.

I'm happy that Rodgers made the decision to move on relatively quickly - as is the case with Joe Cole. Our outs were every bit as good as our ins this January.

Maybe Rodgers thought, much like some fans still do, that Gerrard would be the dynamic box to box midfielder.
Upon the realisation that a different style is now played by Gerrard, Rodgers then probably decided he needed
a different type of player. Coutinho as opposed to Sahin. These things happen.

he signed an 18 month loan didn't he? so all of next season too. maybe madrid and liverpool both saw that he had no true desire to succeed. was probably always comfortable in germany. he will be considered a flop outside the bundesliga....

Sahin has played 321 passes in just six hours of Bundesliga action upon his return at a rate of almost one a minute - far more than any Dortmund player this season.

That I cannot disagree with at all. However, think of it this way, Allen played more than Sahin...

We played Sahin mostly in either the number 10 role or as the holding midfield when he is neither. It's like playing Allen behind the striker and expecting him to do well, just isn't going to happen. I wish the lad all the luck in the world at Dortmund. Glad we got Coutinho though!

You have to remember to Rodgers, Allen is like his love child!! I just don't think he knew where to play Nuri.

I think the form Gerrard shown in his new position meant Sahin was never really going to get a look in.

He should have played much more earlier in the season though when Lucas was injured. Beside Gerrard and not as the most forward of the three.

I actually think not utilizing Sahin properly is one of Rodgers' biggest mistakes this season. The lad is a classy player who just needed some time to find his feet again after missing almost of all last year.

Given our options in midfield I'd have liked to keep Sahin.
Only question is: Would you drop Gerrard?
Sahin was never going to feature with Lucas and Gerrard in the two main roles.
Absolutely he was a better value option than Allen.
That 15 million invested in the areas we strengthened in January would see us challenging for 4th.

Sad that we are dealing in such tight margins.

      Classy touch by the way.

Don't think you'd have to drop Gerrard at all. You'd be dropping Allen or Henderson once Lucas came back. We never got the chance to see Sahin play beside a DM, where he's at his best. There would have been ample opportunity to play him this season in all competitions.

Granted, he did make way for Coutinho, which has worked well for us. But we lack quality depth in midfield.

I thought he was going to be fantastic for us.
Early on he got a few games when we had injuries.
When everyone came back it became clear he was Gerrard's number 2.
I'd love to have seen Lucas - Sahin given a run of games.
In the long term it could have been a great partnership.
