Anyone remember Gary Mackay-Steven? Had a good season for Dundee Utd and I know there's been calls for him to make his Scotland debut, most likely will happen tonight.

Amazing how England seem to be unable to beat a country with a population of less than 1 million.

It was like watching Liverpool circa 2010, surprised he didn't call Montenegro "formidable opposition."

Netherlands beat Romania with 4-0 tonight, beat Estonia 3-0 last friday. Been surprised at how well Van Gaal has been doing as far as performances and games go. We're easing through qualification so far. Although Van Gaal still has his usual weird sh*t too, every interview with him makes me cringe. We're playing more attractive football again than under Van Marwijk though, that's good. But I don't think we have a team capable of competing for the top spots in 2014. We're in a rebuilding phase, but we have some great talent coming up. I think we'll be able to compete again in a big tournament in 2016 or 2018.

Stefan de Vrij has looked really good these past 2 games, which should be of interest to us. I think Sneijder is done as a top player, didn't even make it to halftime friday and went off injured. Van der Vaart has stepped up as a replacement though, he's looking good at the moment. Strootman and De Guzman look like a solid midfield pairing. And Janmaat, our current right back from Feyenoord, is really stepping up. Not just a technically sound player, but works his ass off too.

But I think if you look at our current team, from the 11 starting, 8 new players compared to last summer at Euro 2012. Alot of changes, very young team, they'll need time. But I'm very excited about the future of the Dutch team, I think in 4 to 8 years we might have one of the strongest teams we've had, and a solid defense this time around too again.

I think it's lights out for Uruguay if they don't win this game.

Will feel for Luis if they miss out.

I think the CV's are slightly different, have to conceed that Trap seems to have little or no idea what he is doing at times, and for an old man he looked like he'll catch a pretty nasty cold as well.

What a disgrace the ref was for this red card, the player clearly won the ball  :f_tongueincheek:

Shocking foul EVER! Taras Stepanenko (Ukraine - Moldova)

Mexico 0-0 United States at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

Might not seem like a big deal, but that's a huge point for the US. Only the second-ever point earned on Mexican soil for a World Cup Qualifier (the first was a scoreless draw in 1997).

A little bit of luck involved in that, but as a whole, the US defended well with an injury-ravaged back line. Keep in mind both CBs last night - Omar Gonzalez and Matt Besler - are MLS players, and in fact the entire starting XI got their starts in MLS. So, well played by those boys.

If this was a United player they would be claiming "his eyes were on the ball so it cant be a red card". This goes a long way to proving that the ref was right to send Nani off against Madrid...

Watched the first half, the US playing a very defensive game and it seemed to pay off. Can't say much about the second half as went to bed then!!

Tell you what though, the Azteca stadium looks like a shithole now compared to what I remember from the 86 world cup.

      Denmark 0-4 Armenia.

      Mkhitaryan scored the final goal.

I think Agger did not play but that's still a surprising result.
