An apology from the puppets is the last hurdle and a requirement to open the floodgates of fact that have been steadfastly locked by previous puppets.
It is not an attack of conscience, a sudden urge to 'do the christian thing' but a realisation that the game is up.
Lord Falconer and Michael Mansfield QC have offered their services to the families of the 96 to ensure that the game for the liars and deceivers of the last 23 years is well and truly up.

I hope this is the case stuey, I really do.

Hillsborough families hope truth will out at last on a day of reckoning
A panel of experts has spent 20 months examining 450,000 internal documents relating to Britain's worst sporting disaster

      Mark Townsend
The Observer, Sunday 9 September 2012

In the small room above the Hillsborough Justice Campaign shop in Anfield, Kenny Derbyshire is used to meeting strangers. "Survivors still turn up out of the blue. They'll stand there, numb, unable to speak and break down in tears. This city is still suffering, until we get the truth no one can move on."

This week, 23 years after 96 football fans died at Hillsborough, the city of Liverpool hopes that, finally, the truth will out.

An independent panel of experts, chaired by the Bishop of Liverpool, James Jones, has spent 20 months examining 450,000 internal documents relating to Britain's worst sporting disaster.

On Wednesday, the panel will aim to deliver a definitive narrative into the events of 15 April 1989, when a fatal crush developed at the Leppings Lane end of the Sheffield stadium before an FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.

Sources say it will find "in favour" of the families and illustrate, in detail, the lengths to which South Yorkshire police orchestrated a "cover up" to hide their culpability by blaming the fans. The city hopes this will be the week that will finally clear the names of the supporters, who were maligned as drunk, ticketless and unruly, a portrayal perpetrated by police and articulated by the Sun newspaper under the headline: "The truth".

Michael Mansfield QC, who will be with families at Liverpool cathedral this Wednesday to offer free legal advice following the release of the documents, hopes myths will be laid to rest. The lawyer, who specialises in miscarriages of justice, said: "It was a false story, it's time to put it to bed."

Margaret Aspinall, whose son, James, 18, died, said the smear campaign directed by those culpable for the disaster had deepened Liverpool's grief. "It's not just the survivors, we have to clear their names [the dead]
I get angry when I think they have allowed the families to suffer for 23 years, to allow the survivors to go through torture knowing it was a cover-up."

No one from the government or police has apologised and no organisation or individual has been sanctioned, despite Lord Justice Taylor's official inquiry in 1989 which found that police failures caused the tragedy. "Liverpool has always been a militant town, but the attitude to Hillsborough destroyed any trust in the government. It can never be repaired," says Derbyshire.

He agrees that the sense of injustice has amplified the emotional fallout from a tragedy that keeps claiming victims. The Hillsborough Justice Campaign knows of least six survivors who have taken their own lives because they could not come to terms with the disaster or the official response it drew. Two weeks ago, a male survivor threw himself beneath a train.

"There a lot of walking wounded out there, broken marriages, people turning to drink," says Derbyshire, 46. "Thousands remain traumatised. To many it feels like it happened yesterday."

Aged 22, Derbyshire was yanked to safety from the crush by fellow supporters. "I can still hear the screams, people begging for help, people going down and not coming up again." He stares across the street to Liverpool's Kop stand. "I've survived because I've learnt to talk about it."

If the verdict, as expected, chronicles errors by the police and other public bodies, the demand for fresh inquests will be overwhelming. For the Hillsborough families, the coroner's hearings into the 96 fatalities, and subsequent verdict of accidental death, cannot be allowed to stand. In particular, Dr Stefan Popper's decision to impose an "artificial" cut-off at 3.15pm on the day of the tragedy, after which point no evidence was taken, has been condemned. It has always seemed a curious decision to many, coming just 11 minutes after a barrier snapped on the terracing of the Leppings Lane end, causing the 3.04pm "surge" which prompted the worst of the crushing.

For the first time, details of what happened after 3.15pm on the day of the crush, in which 766 were also injured, will emerge this week. In particular, the documents are expected to dissect the chaotic response by the emergency services. Just one out of 42 ambulances summoned to Hillsborough made it on to the pitch. Only 14 of the dead were taken to hospital. Paramedics have said the basic practice of clearing patients' airways was not done.

Crucially, a clearer picture of how many more lives might have been saved is expected to emerge. It is apparent that some were alive long after 3.15pm. "Different places, different times, different reasons, but obviously some were alive beyond that point," said Mansfield.

Reports have described bodies laid by the river Don, presumed dead. Corpses were left by the Leppings Lane end, though no qualified medic had examined them. How many of the dead could have been saved? One mother, Anne Williams, whose son Kevin, 15, died, has evidence that her son displayed signs of life at 4pm. An off-duty officer told her he felt a pulse. A special constable said Kevin opened his eyes and whispered: "Mum". Their statements were changed following a visit from West Midlands police, whose serious crime unit was disbanded in 1989 amid allegations of corrupt conduct by officers. Both witnesses stand by their original statements.

Signs are growing that the government could lodge an application to the high court for a round of fresh inquests. The attorney general, Dominic Grieve, promised yesterday to consider this week's evidence and then decide "as quickly as I can".

Aspinall, vice-chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, admits she is haunted by the thought that her son might have survived. "I don't know what happened or who helped my son. Why was he laid on his back and not in the recovery position? Who said he died at ten to four?"

Clues to the extent of the alleged cover-up can already be found in documents from South Yorkshire police released several years ago, after a government order. They show how a unit of senior officers vetted junior officers' statements. Criticisms of the police were ordered to be removed, yet the undoctored statements betray a police leadership in disarray. More darkly, they indicate a smear campaign against Liverpool supporters. One fan, said to have vomited beer, was found to have no alcohol in his system. In one statement, an officer bizarrely wrote: "Liverpool fans murdered Liverpool fans."

South Yorkshire police have still to explain by whom and why the notebooks were doctored. Not one officer among the 800 on duty that day has said sorry. Although Derbyshire reveals that a couple have rung his campaign group anonymously, the lack of a public apology rankles.

Aspinall said: "Not one has had the balls to come out and say we were told to change our statements, not one." The ongoing silence compounds the feeling that the force remains reluctant to accept responsibility.

It is hoped that on Wednesday the panel will give reassurances that they have received all the documentation relating to Hillsborough. The fact that, 14 years after Lord Justice Stuart-Smith's judicial scrutiny of Hillsborough evidence, hundreds of thousands of documents are about to be disclosed corroborates the suspicion of a system operating against the families' interests.

Aspinall added: "If anything new comes out on Wednesday, then it means not one person has wanted to release it to us despite all our attempts. Why was that?"

The very fact that the former Lord Chancellor Lord Falconer and Michael Mansfield QC have voluntarily offered their services as well as their professional standing of course, tells you all you want to know about their committment to the cause.
To be hard arsed about it no legal team however highly qualified will risk time, money, their reputation and credibility on an unwinnable case, that fact and the emotional ties Lord Falconer and Michael Mansfield have with Hillsborough will wither any resolve remaining within the liar and deceivers.
There is definitely more than a glimmer of light and truth at the end of this saga.

      What is Justice?

It's different things to different people, it's so complex it's untrue.

I would like to see the likes of Superintendant Marshall and Duckenfield held accountable, as we witnessed fellow Liverpudlians dying and or being crushed to death, their obscene lack of concern and command before, during and after the tradegy

The CCTV coverage from the control box, and other area’s were conveniently “lost” as they knew from the very first instant they had failed in their duties, and indeed contributed vastly towards the disaster. Thousands remain traumatised by the experience. Numerous suicides can be attributed directly to Hillsborough.

The Truth; some fans picked pockets of victims; some fans urinated on the brave cops; some fans beat up PC giving kiss of life

The main culprits in spreading these lies were David Duckenfield, Chief Superintendent in charge on the day, Graham Mackrell, Secretary Sheffield Wednesday and Graham Kelly of the F.A. By the evening of the Disaster, Peter Wright, Chief Constable of South Yorkshire, issued a statement which acknowledged that the gate had been opened on the instructions of the police. Little notice was taken of this however, and other comments by Wright stated that the crush had occurred outside the turnstiles. By the late arrival of large numbers of supporters. Wright was merely using this as a means of blaming the supporters and divert attention from the authorities.

The West Midlands police and their role in investigating the Hiilsborough disaster must also come under the strictest of scrutiny, from the offset, it was they who investigated the role of the South Yorkshire Police and to prepare and submit evidence to the Director of Public Prosecutions, before being presented to the coroners court.

The Stuart Smith Scrutiny, one aspect of the scrutiny was that it enabled families to have access for the very first time to the files on the deceased that were held by South Yorkshire Police. Many of the files confirmed that which had long been speculated, that many of the statements submitted had been tampered with.

The Trial of Duckenfield and Murray 2000, again another sham, those in power manipulated to their own means.

By the time of the Taylor Report, evidence had been well and truly been adjusted, amended and conveniently lost and or disposed of. These falsified statements were used during the inquests at the Coroner's Court, The Verdict and the Judicial Review itself.

I don't really know what to expect on Wednesday. I have a feeling, and I could be wrong, that admission will be made that the 3.06 cut off was incorrect in so many way's and that it will be confirmed that many of those who lost their lives where alive much later than that.

Basically, I would like to see the names published of every person and organisation/ agency who contributed, encouraged, bullied, threatened people to adjust and or withdraw their statements, with a FULL apology to every family who lost loved ones as a result of their cowardly actions. A FULL apology to those survivors who still to this day live in guilt, as a result of the cover up, and a FULL apology to the families of those Hillsborough survivors who committed suicide, again resultant to the actions of those in power.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure to Expose the lies before Thatcher dies.

As the veil of deceipt is stripped away and deceivers are exposed, the word exposed is a joke because we know full well what they are responsible for, however these liars are barriers if you will between the real instigators and justice.
As the previous poster implies the witch Thatcher is implicated to a greater degree than any of the individuals mentioned in the report, the imposters must be dealt with and the witch burned, a metaphoric term unfortunately.

What is required is a full account of the lies that were spoken and writtern. The liars and the incompetent should be prosecuted for there deeds.
I have no idea what it would take for the Families to say "we are now satisfied Justice has been served" but for me i would want the people responsible behind bars nothing more nothing less.
I being a cynical old fart am just waiting for the next delaying tactic.

An ominous quotation from the chief constable of Yorkshire in a closng statement in the programme tonight:- ''as far as I am aware all the relevant documents will be used in the report'' he had previously stated that he was not aware of any documents being shredded or destroyed.

If nothing else the Yorkshire police are F***ing consistent.

Michael Mansfield QC alluding to the statements made by Duckenfield of the S. Yorkshire police and Kelly of the FA amongst others, labelled them liars with agendas.
For a highly qualified legal mind to use such definitive references points to only one fact - he is as sure as he can be this is a winnable action.

Before the panel speaks to the media after they've spoken to the families, a ministerial statement is expected to be made in Westminster. Last October, the Prime Minister likened the families' search for closure on Hillsborough to the plight of, and I quote, a 'blind man, in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there.'
Taken from official LFC site: http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/hfsg-we-want-full-apology

Is it just me that finds this worrying. The politicians will make the first statement before anyone else, that will be what everyone remembers. After 23 years of misinformation, cover up and lies I fear this statement may just be a watered down version of the same. I hope to F**k I am wrong, but it IS the same party that started the lies.

I have to say, short of a full and frank apology from the prime minister, I wont be satisfied.

      HFSG: We want full apology

      10th Sep 2012 - Latest News

Ahead of the release of the Hillsborough Independent Panel's long-awaited report on Wednesday, Liverpoolfc.com spoke to Hillsborough Family Support Group chair Margaret Aspinall as the campaign for justice prepares for its latest chapter.

Margaret, what's the mood like amongst the families you represent on the eve of the panel releasing its report?

It is one of anticipation. [We are] nervous, emotional and desperate - desperate to discover what the findings are going to be.

What is it you will actually be provided with by the panel itself?

When we go into the cathedral, we will be getting a summary of the report and we've got to look at that. Hopefully, we might be able to digest it, but I doubt it very much. It's going to be a very emotional day, but I'm just hoping for the questions we have put forward, we find all the answers.

What essentially are you hoping to be the main thing that does emerge from the panel's report?

The exoneration of our fans and survivors - that is very important. They did nothing wrong that day and prevented more people from dying. That would be a very good thing if that does happen. Obviously I'd like to find out why Duckenfield gave the order to open the gate and tried to say the fans kicked it in, and why they did not block off the tunnel in already over-crowded pens. But I think the main thing for everybody who lost somebody that day is to get the inquest verdicts changed and go beyond the 3.15pm [cut-off point].

Rather than actually drawing a line under Hillsborough for the families, do you see Wednesday as hopefully the next positive step in your fight for justice?

Absolutely. I am hoping it draws a line for the survivors and fans, some of them who are still suffering. They have guilt still on them, which is an absolute disgrace that these fans have had any form of guilt on them whatsoever. They did nothing wrong that day - all they did was help to save more people from dying. I hope for those fans it will be complete exoneration from what they were accused of. For the families, I think there will be another journey. For 23 years now we've been fighting for the truth of Hillsborough. I think it will be a journey in the sense that if there is any evidence there that [means] we can go forward for a new inquest, then that is what we're going to do. Since the generic inquest, I've always insisted I never got my son's death certificate. From that day, after those verdicts came out, I wrote that I do not want my son's death certificate until the right verdict is put on it. I am hoping I might be on the journey of getting and achieving that.

Before the panel speaks to the media after they've spoken to the families, a ministerial statement is expected to be made in Westminster. Last October, the Prime Minister likened the families' search for closure on Hillsborough to the plight of, and I quote, a 'blind man, in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there.' What do you hope you hear from the Prime Minister this Wednesday?

I'm hoping it will be a full, national apology. After 23 years of heartache, not only for the families but of the fans and everybody else, what they have put us through was needless and it was unnecessary. It was all there from the minute Hillsborough happened, they knew exactly what happened. They knew who was to blame for the deaths of the 96. Over the past 23 years, we've had a lot of people slinging mud at us - and we still get that to this day. We want now, a full apology for what they've done and caused - the pain, the grief, the heartache, the stress. They've put us through hell for 23 years and it's the least we can expect from Mr Cameron. We are not blaming Mr Cameron for those terrible deaths, but his government was in power on that day and I think he's got to apologise on behalf of his government.

It's not only the mistakes that were made on the day by the authorities, but also subsequent investigations too, isn't it?

Yes, there were so many things that went on. The legal channels we've had to go down and fight. You can talk about the scrutiny as well, and every one of these channels have said to us, 'You need new evidence.' That angers me because if there is new evidence that comes out on Wednesday - and I do say if there is - it has been there. Why have they done that to us? Why did they not release it straight away? Why did they make the families travel to Leeds every day for a private prosecution? Why did we have to go through all of that? The scrutiny, generic inquest... so many things we've had to go through and the door slammed in our faces - why did they put us through that? As I said, the least we expect is that apology for all that heartache they've given us.

The Mayor of Liverpool has organised a vigil on Wednesday evening to allow people of the city to show their support to the families. What message do you have for the many members of the public who are likely to come along to that?

I'm sure the members of the public have heard me in the past till this present day thanking them. The members of the public don't have to be at that vigil to show their support - we've had their support for 23 years. I do believe if we carry on further for the inquest to be changed, we will still get that support. I say to the Mayor, the chief executive of this city and everyone involved, I can't thank them enough for what they're doing for that vigil. To me, that is showing respect for the 96 and it's a good thing for the survivors who were there that day. I've also got to thank the likes of Maria Eagle, Derek Twigg, Andy Burnham, Steve Rotheram and George Howarth - he's had his own personal grief, but he's tried to do a lot for Hillsborough. They're all people we've got to thank besides all of the public, our city and everybody else - that's how we've got to where we are today. We'd have never achieved this on our own. We achieved it through all the ordinary people and they've got an awful lot to be proud of - and the 96 will be proud of them as well.

Finally, Margaret, you've fought so hard for so many years to, to use your words, 'remove the blanket that was thrown over Hillsborough' - what is it above everything else that has kept you going through all of this?

It's very difficult to answer that because there are so many things. I could start off by saying each and every one of the families who loved their loved one so much and knew it was a big injustice what happened. Then you've got all of the support from all of the people all over the world, the fans and the survivors. Our city itself has been a credit to us - I'm proud of the city and I can't thank the city and its people enough. They have been a credit to this city and all of us. We've got all of them to thank. For the 96 themselves, they did nothing wrong that day and to come home five days later in coffins, we've got to get it right for them. There are a lot of our families we've lost since Hillsborough and they were desperate to take the truth - we've got to do it for all of them who have gone as well as the 96. It's not just the 96, it's [also] the knock-on effect of what it's done to their families as well. We've got to do it for them. As I've said in the past, we are the voices, we are the ears and we are the eyes. We've had the crumbs, this time I think we're getting the whole loaf.

New evidence may force fresh inquest into Hillsborough

Ahead of tomorrow's independent report, ambulanceman admits 1989 response was 'poor'

IAN HERBERT    TUESDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2012

The only ambulanceman to have reached the pitch as the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster unfolded has admitted, amid a growing sense that tomorrow's exhaustive independent report into the tragedy will force a fresh inquest, that the emergency service response was "poor".

Tom Edwards told an investigative ITV film on Hillsborough, screened last night, that he was staggered to discover no ambulances following him on to the pitch amid the Leppings Lane End crush and that emergency services did not "give the proper care and attention that was due to the people who were dying". When Edwards' ambulance left the field – one of the iconic pieces of footage from that day – it carried Victoria Hicks, leaving her sister, Sarah, behind. Neither survived.

The Hillsborough Independent Panel, which has scrutinised thousands of pages of new material, is expected to shatter the notion, enshrined by Sheffield coroner Stefan Popper in his inquest after the disaster, that no evidence from after a 3.15pm cut-off on the afternoon of the FA Cup semi-final is valid because any injuries sustained before then by the 96 who died were irreversible. The medical records of the 96 are expected to be a particularly revealing part of the findings.

The panel has received the testimony of Debra Martin, the South Yorkshire Police special constable who said that Liverpool supporter Kevin Williams, who was pulled out of the Leppings Lane stand at 3.28pm, had said the word "mum" to her at some time after 3.37pm. She believes he might have been saved.

The case of Williams, who died between 3.50pm and 4pm, is integral to campaigners' hopes to demonstrate that the 3.15pm cut-off – and therefore the inquests – are invalid and should be struck out. Williams' mother, Anne Williams, has applied to the Attorney General, Dominic Grieve, for a new inquest. He is awaiting the full report before deciding whether to apply to the High Court. A fresh inquest for Williams – which seemed an almost unattainable target when the panel was established – would mean the initial accidental death verdicts being re-examined for all 96.

The findings of the panel – which was established in 2010 on the initiative of the then Culture Secretary, Andy Burnham, to bring "full public disclosure" of all relevant Government documentation – will bring into the public domain 10 boxes of documents which were lodged in the House of Lords library when South Yorkshire Police were forced to disclose them. Burnham revealed in the House of Commons last October one police constable's handwritten statements from within that hoard. The officer described "several officers wandering about in a dazed and confused state. Some were crying and some simply sat on the grass". A note from a senior officer, attached to the top-right corner of the statement, reads: "Last 2 pages require amending. These are his own feelings. He states that PCs were sat down crying when the fans were carrying the dead and injured. This shows they were organised and we were not. Have the PC re-write the last 2 pages excluding the points mentioned."

Tomorrow may prove to be another uncomfortable day for News International, as the panel is likely to shed light on any police briefings for The Sun, which led that newspaper to its infamous decision to blame Liverpool supporters for the tragedy.

"When I set up the panel I promised the families they'd get the full truth," Burnham said last night. "I'm more and more confident that that is what they will get. From here, they got the truth and now we fight for justice."

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it was prevented, by a duty of confidentiality, from responding to Edwards' comments until tomorrow.

The Hillsborough Independent Panel will release its long-awaited report on Wednesday - and LFC TV and Liverpoolfc.com will keep supporters up to date with the very latest developments throughout what will be a significant day for the families of the 96.

Our TV coverage - which will be simulcast free on the official website throughout the day - starts at 10am BST with a look back at how people-power swept Hillsborough back onto the agenda in the House of Commons last October as more than 140,000 signed an online petition in support of the work of the Hillsborough Independent Panel.

At 11am our Hillsborough: 23 Years On, 10 Questions documentary addresses the key issues in the fight for justice.

Then, live at midday, The Hillsborough Independent Panel Report will feature coverage of a ministerial statement from Westminster as well as the panel's press conference from Liverpool Cathedral.

At 3.06pm the channel and club as a whole will observe the two minutes' silence, and from 5pm to 8.30pm we'll be live from St George's Plateau as the people of Liverpool come together to show their support for the bereaved families of Hillsborough.

I know saying i'am looking forward to this sounds the wrong words to say, but i truly am, hopefully this will be the begining of the end of the 23 year long fight for justice for the 96 people and all those that have sadly lost there lives as a result of what happend that day, hopefully this will bring peace to everyone effected by it, directly or in-directly, and hopefullly those who are truly responsible will be known by all. Then maybe, the lies will stop, and hopefully we will have JFT96, hopefully.

NEW REPORT WILL ACCUSE POLICE OF ORCHESTRATING HILLSBOROUGH COVER-UP

      by Tony Evans // 11 September 2012

ANDREW DEVINE has never spoken about what happened to him on a sunny spring day 23 years ago. He has never spoken about anything since.

He was 22 when he went to a football match, an FA Cup semi-final at Hillsborough between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. For the first half of his life he was a normal, happy, healthy person. He has now been in a vegetative state for more than half a lifetime after being deprived of oxygen in the crush on the Leppings Lane End.

No one could ever say that the 96 people who died as a direct result of the events of April 15, 1989, were lucky. Yet it seems the cruellest use of language to term Devine a “survivor”.

On Wednesday, when the Hillsborough Independent Panel (HIP) releases what should be a definitive and incontrovertible report into the disaster and its aftermath, it is unlikely that Devine, who is cared for by his loving family, who feed him puréed food, will be aware.

The panel’s conclusions will reiterate what the Taylor Report told us about the causes of the disaster. There will be more eye-opening information, though. Much more.

After 20 months of studying nearly half a million documents, the HIP will detail the full extent of the police cover-up in the hours, days and weeks after the tragedy and highlight how political interference from the highest level affected the reporting and perception of Hillsborough. The breathtaking range of the cover-up will demand further investigation and possibly a full public inquiry.

Evidence was tampered with and disappeared, junior police officers were bullied into changing their statements in an orchestrated campaign to blame the fans for the fatal crush and deflect criticism away from the South Yorkshire Police.

Finally, we may be coming close to getting the truth, a phrase distorted by Kelvin MacKenzie’s despicable headline in The Sun above a story that accused Liverpool supporters of robbing the dead, urinating on the police and making lewd sexual suggestions about a dead girl.

I was part of that crowd. I always ask those who believe the lies of 1989 the same questions. Would you do these things? No one has ever answered yes. And no one has ever been able to reply to the follow-up request: then tell me why you think I would commit these outrages.

What should have been a discourse about the worst breakdown of the emergency services in British history was sidetracked by accusations of hooliganism that many were all too ready to believe. Some still do.

This year, a significant number of Chelsea fans at Wembley disrupted a minute’s silence on the anniversary, chanting “Murderers” and “You killed your own fans”. Fans of other clubs, perhaps imagining themselves more subtle, sing: “If it wasn’t for the Scousers we could stand.”

The catastrophic failure of a police force that put thousands of men, women and children in jeopardy, killing 96 of them, becomes a weapon in the so-called “banter” of football. It’s reduced to a whinge that the terraces were taken from the game. It is depressing.

Not all supporters are so myopic and deluded. The support the Hillsborough campaigns have received from across the game is heart-warming. Many fans recognise the issues of public safety and the ability to trust a Government to dispense justice even-handedly.

Even the most unlikely figures have thrown their weight behind the quest for truth. In June, Eric Cantona climbed on stage and joined the Justice Tonight band and expressed his support for the campaign, recognising that this is a cause much too important to be obscured by tribalism.

On Wednesday we will see the first steps taken towards righting a 23-year-old wrong. After all these years, those who made disastrous mistakes and then lied about it may be forced to take responsibility. The real guilty men may have to admit they were culpable.

The relatives of the dead may finally find some closure. Yet no one can take pleasure in this. The truth should not have to be battled for so hard. And even if those who campaigned so doggedly should be applauded for their achievement, how can anyone be happy when Andrew Devine and his family go through hell every day?

A stain on football’s character may be removed on Wednesday, but no one can feel good about the trail of ugly events that led us to this point. There are no winners here.

That's the best article I have read leading up to the release of the inquiry's findings.

I've no doubt that some lies will be exposed due to contradicting accounts but as much as I want the whole truth to come out, this was a cover up at the highest level and I feel an awful lot of evidence will have been destroyed long ago.
