Hillsborough TV Programmes on in September 2012

I came across this last night on BBC1.
I hadn't seen it advertised and I decided not to watch it because I'd missed the first 10 minutes.
When I went to look for it on BBC IPlayer this morning it wasn't listed in the programme guide and I had to search for it by name.
I'm guessing seeing as there has been no comment on it on here that it was only shown in the Yorkshire region?
Anyway not sure if there is anything new in here but the journalist from the S**trag 15 minutes in clearly puts the blame for the story in Scumbags court.

I watched it last night, feel sorry for the officer who did his all to help people and just happens to be judged as a whole with all of the other officers who didn't rush to aid the injured. It's also a shame that he hasn't found out what he has also wondered for the past 23 years - is the young lad he did CPR on still alive...

The editor who came up with that title is an absolute idiot to say the least and it says it all when creators of the programme requested the editor to answer a few questions and he refused. He obviously knows what he did was wrong but it still doesn't change it.

I'm from Manchester by the way so i think it was on national BBC, it was on quite late at night though.

I recorded it, and watched it this morning.

I went to bed early, and decided to watch it on BBC iPlayer, it was not on, what was on was another program, a southern comedian had a show being broadcast.

I went toi TV catchup, again not being shown.

So I guess that only the NW received this IMPORTANT program. Again the rest of the UK is shielded from the facts, and the lies and misbeliefs from the rest of the UK will continue.

BBC you should be ashamed. You had the chance to educate people, but alas, you bottled it.

Oh, ITV have a program tonight, 10/09/12 on at 22:35, on for an hour, but I guess this will only be on in the NW.

Programme was only available in North West and in Yorkshire. Definitely available on Iplayer as I have just watched it on Iplayer on my playstation.

I'll reserve comment until I watch the ITV version this evening.

No, it was televised in the North West as well. But only made avaiable to watch for the rest of the nation online today.

Which is disgusting seeing as it has been the biggest injustice of the century.

I watched it last night and I was pretty disappointed in the lack of substance to be frank. Hoping tonights ITV one goes into more detail about the wrong doings of the people who were meant to maintain safety and not just more accounts of what people regrettably had to endure on that fateful day.

We know the truth about what people suffered at Hillsborough. Let's get it out there why football fans had to suffer such trauma that day now.

Having seen both programmes I'd have to say the ITV one covered more but neither of them were good enough, given they were both probably only shown in the north west and at a time slot that wasn't given to let the widest audience see the facts then I'm disappointed in both channels as it seems it was more they wanted to be seen to be doing it than doing it for the reason they should have, to educate the masses of people who still believe the lies.

I hope on the 12th the truth is given and it gets reported nationwide so as to educate the less informed.

Absolutely heartbreaking stuff. The girl with the teddy bear on the pitch had me fighting back the tears. Hopefully justice will be served.

Thank God for the ITV programme last night. Couldn't help but think the BBC prgramme the night before was just a little bit half arsed.

I watched the two programmes as if I didn't know too much about the disaster or I was unsure about what had actually happened.

Pretty sure that after watching the ITV programme I would be seeing things from the pespective of the families.

The ITV one was also shown in Ireland on UTV an hour after ITV.
Shows up the national BBC effort.

That poor family losing their two daughters brought me to tears.

The BBC showed what is best termed as an overview, which didn't ask nearly enough questions or show enough of the existing evidence.

The ITV version was much better and covered in more detail some of the more contentious issues.

I'm really, really hoping for a positive result tomorrow.

I did not hold the tears back, let them flow.

ITV's program was far superior IMO. Showed the untruths told about that day for what they are. LIES.

Felt sorry for the Ambulance guy, and the Police personnel who were not allowed to do their job on that day, and the fact that if their evidence did not fit into the "official" version, then they were dismissed or mistaken.

The families and survivors have my upmost respect.

I hope tomorrow brings what they deserve. Justice.

I hesitate to use the phrase cop out, but that's what it was.
I felt sorry for the copper who was interviewed and even had a little sympathy for the reporter whose piece was hijacked by the lying scumbag editor.

The ITV documentary was much more rounded and pointed out evidence that some may not know about.
It placed the blame exactly where it should be, but did seem somewhat sympathetic to the tories, including michael howard being interviewed.
It looked for a time as though they were trying to exonerate thatcher, but in the end they merely pointed out what she may or may not have been told. In view of this, the cabinet notes will be interesting to say the least.

All we can hope is that Tomorrow (Wednesday) that the real truth does come out, and find out that there were lies around it this whole time.

It does seem bizarre how so many papers & some documentaries views seem to differ so massively on this topic.

Hope tomorrow can be the start of setting the record straight.

I like to say a massive thank you for those who posted the links to both programmes as i am unable to view British tv. Although i now live across the pond and then some, my heart is always with those closely associated with the 96. Hope i awake to news that they have at least made a start to find justice. It is not just what they deserve, they are entitled to it.
