These owners proved in the summer that they really don't give  flying fook about the cups so why risk it.

Because as LFC Supporters we do?

Yesil on the bench as well, maybe he'll get some time this evening?

Or if they get a good win it will be good confidence going into the next game!

Wouldn't have gone for Downing mind! Should have put Suso in instead IMO. The defence have to be on it tonight, no stupid mistakes because Eto'o will without doubt punish any mistakes they make so please no pass backs Skrtel!!

The importance of cup competitions in the eyes of the club's hierarchy is clear in light of managerial changes this season. We always want a win, but how bothered is anyone about this game in comparison to Sunday?

As far as training injuries/tiredness I'd rather 4-5 of that team were rested and we risk training them as opposed to playing in a match. Especially when that match involves Chris Samba; well known for killing and eating strikers as a second half snack.

F**k the hierarchy.  They know sweet fa about football and even less about Liverpool FC.  We exist to win trophies.

      Delighted with that team tonight.

I understand where you're coming from and in no way am I advocating a loss, but even if we lose tonight, professionalism should kick in from tomorrow morning and focus move to Everton & 3pts.

I just think with such thread bare numbers in terms of senior players, starting all of them bar Allen (assuming we agree Sterling/Suso not established as yet) ahead of one of our most important fixtures of the season, doesn't seem like a good call overall.

That's a strong line-up!  Hopefully we can score a couple early on (and not concede) so that we can take Stevie and Luis off in the second half.  Save their legs (well, Stevie's anyway) for Sunday.

Hope Yesil gets on in the second half.

Actually looking at it, the midfield trio looks a bit vulnerable to the counter attack...

Stevie can play that disciplined defensive role superbly when he puts his mind too it.  What I've noticed though is if the players ahead of him aren't doing the business, he gets frustrated and starts pushing forward too much.

I think it'll be the captain and Sahin deeper with Shelvey the furthest forward.  Going to throw a few quid on Jonjo first goal actually,

Hmm.... really?  every game and cup?

Last year before the FA Cup final we played Fulham in the league at home, we fielded this lineup

Doni; Aurelio, Coates, Kelly, Skrtel; Maxi, Henderson, Spearing, Shelvey; Carroll, Kuyt.

And we lost, to Fulham, at Anfield.  In the league.  Are you sure that lineup said "we want to win every game"?

"oh but it was before the FA cup final."

Okay so.... what you really mean is... we want to win... most games.

Maybe we can wait to argue until after the game? Especially on topics that have nothing to do with the actual game?
