Finding it hard to get myself up for this game, maybe it's knowing the derby is coming up. Hopefully I will feel different nearer the kickoff, but at the moment blah.

Still believe we will win, just not too excited at the thought. :(

I'm the same, based on all the proposed team news we should be fine but I'd rather see the likes of Suarez Agger and Gerrard left out with Sunday in mind.

Leads me to wonder if Rodgers is just strengthening his position as 'working within constraint' to secure more money for the next 2 transfer windows...

Really quite excited for the match tonight, Anzhi seem to be like the new football phenomenon who have just came out of the blue.
Be good to see the likes of Eto'o an Samba at Anfield!
Anyway, if rumours are true about Suarez an Gerrard starting then I prey to god they keep fit, do have faith in BR in choosing them like.
A win (at any score) would give us some good confidence going into the derby on sunday.

                             Jones
         Wisdom  Skrtel  Agger  Enrique
                      Shelvey   Sahin
                          Gerrard
              Downing            Assaidi
                          Suarez

Thats what I THINK but personally I would swap Agger for Carragher, Gerrard for Henderson and Suarez for ... oh wait, Pacheco maybe?
Anyway, maybe 2-1 Suarez an Shelvey. YNWA

Looking forward to this one, haven't felt that for a europa league game yet. Anzhi will be a really tough test, maybe not as tough as when we have to go to their place but i would imagine a lot of youth out there tonight. Depends which way you look at it, i dont believe we have a squad to compete in 4 competitions but we do have a squad that can try and give it everything they have. I dont mind putting out a weak team in a competition if they give it their all, so far to me the kids have so whatever team at the moment we do put out, we always seem to have a chance.

Keep the faith, i want to progress in this competition cause i'm tired of not winning matches!!

(Last europa league game i got hit in the face with a ball and spilt my hot choc down my white shirt :( )

Tonight's game will really be a tough game against an tough opponent. Anzhi are a very good side with some very good players, and they've bought some good players. That's the reason they're top of the Russian league & also are unbeatean in 21 games so i can see why Brendan Rodgers is going to start his big players? We all know that in 72 hours time we got the Merseyside derby but if we want to progress in UEFA Europa League then we must sacrifice for the sake of it cause i'm show if you ask all the evertonian fans if they want to be in our place they would say yes...  I can see Anfield will be electric proper european night...

This could be the start of something big for us, and as such I'm excited for it. Just quietly, we've gone on a little run in the league and the defence suddenly has a more solid look about it, a good result here could see us beginning to look a little bit like a football team.

I like the team the boss has picked, and although Gerrard and Suarez represent something of a risk he's been sensible with them oth so far so two games in a week oughtn't to be a bridge too far. Any potential freshness which would be maintained for the Everton match would be far outweighed by the momentum a positive result and performance would bring, and I agree with Brendan here.

As for the match itself, I hope very much that Jose Enrique continues to work his way back into the first choice eleven. Equally, I hope whoever plays alongside Luis works hard to fill in the gaps he leaves when he goes a wandering. It isn't just the job of the wider strikers either, Shelvey ought to be getting ready to fill his boots by hitting the holes our star man makes. I've seen some "pundits" on the telly say that Luis should stay central. They are wrong IMHO, the problem is not Luis leaving the centre forward slot, it's that others are reluctant to fill it when he's gone. There's goals in them there gaps, as Sterling proved on Saturday.

If we play well we are a handful for any team, and my bet is that we will and we'll win 3-0.

      This all day.

Hopefully we will have a good perfomance tonight, and a result to match.
Should be a goal-fest for us, but a comfortable 1-0 will do my nerves the world of good.

Haven't really been impressed with our 433 would like to see this (451)

Think it gives us more of a goal threat through the middle and also gives Allen the chance to play balls that will actually hurt the opposition

Always liked Hiddink. Particularly nice moment when a journalist asks him to move the wreath and get the team in.
One hand movement to signify the moment is bigger than a better photo opportunity.
Touch of class there from Gus ,, bit crowded that lift though ideal time to have left a sneaky one out.

As a team been confirmed then? Personally I'd much rather see Gerrard and Luis on thebench for this one and don't see the point in risking either player from the start. The 5-10% effect it may have on their fitness and sharpness for a derby that will likely be played at break neck pace at the weekend is reason enough to leave them on the bench. I'd keep faith with the kids and the squad players if I were Rodgers. These owners proved in the summer that they really don't give  flying fook about the cups so why risk it.

Because we shouldn't let people only interested in money change the fact that it's pretty damn nice lifting a trophy.
