Seriously though. There have been a few films that I hadn't seen that a lot of people had banged on about but considering the HUGE popularity of the Star Wars films that's existed since the late 70s, were you two never tempted to see what the fuss was about?

Is there a film or series of films that you think you should have seen by now?  I've still not seen any of the Godfather Trilogy and not watched Goodfellas all the way through and don't think I'll ever bother.

As for Goodfellas. That is still my all time favourite film and any reason why you haven't finished watching it?

Quite a lot of Gangster (and WWI & II) films leave me cold, just can't get into them.  With the Godfather though, it's the hype coupled with my general dislike for mobster flicks.  Been a few films that I just can't get through, with a gangster theme, Heat and Casino come to mind and I've fallen asleep trying to watch those two on a few occasions.

What makes it worse, is I've watched and enjoyed films that are probably far worse, it's just become a massive hurdle for me to even try them now.

I remember you mentioning this before rodders but I'm a massive fan of Mafia/Gangster/Crime films so each to their own I guess.

As far as I'm concerned though Goodfellas is an absolute masterpiece of film making.

I can honestly say that I've never been tempted.

I love Goodfellas, though. Seeing as that has been mentioned.

If I never have to watch Goodfellas again it will be too soon.

And I've never watched any of the Godfather films.

But I can recite all three of the "real" Star Wars films. ;)

Hmm. Can't think of any off the top of my head. I only saw The Matrix about 18 months ago, after years of hearing about it. Still haven't seen the sequels and aren't that fussed about seeing them either. I suppose if I'd seen it years ago, the CGI effects would have seemed far more special.
I'll get back to you if I think of any.

Star Wars Trio 'In Episode VII', Says Lucas
George Lucas has dropped the strongest hint yet that three icons of the original Star Wars movies will be appearing in the new film.

Rumours that Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are reprising their roles have been doing the rounds - but nothing has yet been confirmed by Disney.

However, Lucas has now said the stars were signed up to appear in Episode VII when he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in October last year.

"We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison - or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation," the 68-year-old told Bloomberg Businessweek.

"Maybe I'm not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them."

Perhaps realising he had revealed too much, Lucas added: "I won't say whether the negotiations were successful or not."
He may be 70 but Harrison Ford looks set to play Han Solo once again

Fans' appetite for the seventh movie in the franchise have been fuelled by comments by the actors themselves.

Fisher told a Florida newspaper this week she would again be playing Princess Leia. However a representative for the actress later claimed the comments were only meant as a joke.

Meanwhile, Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker, has also said that producers are "talking to us".

Disney announced in January that Lost co-creator JJ Abrams would direct the new film, due out in 2015, but the film-maker reportedly shunned the initial offer before later changing his mind.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy said: "He was immersed in finishing (Star Trek Into Darkness, the sequel to his first Star Trek movie). He felt that he might be exploring territories that were too similar."

Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4.05bn (£2.7bn) and Episodes VII, VIII and IX are being made over a roughly six-year period.

Despite the sale, Lucas said he was still involved with the new project and had been to storyline meetings to advise on technical matters relating to the Star Wars universe.

Not sure why Lucas is talking about this. Just glad he won't be back.

Can't be worse than the prequels so I don't see why fans are complaining about these sequels. With the Star Trek director, some award winning script writers (including Toy Story 3 writer and The Empire Strikes Back writer) and the original cast, surely it can't be worse than the prequels. If George Lucas was involved, no doubt would we be getting terrible actors like Hayden Christensen or Shia La Beouf on board. The man's ideas and casting for Star Wars and Indiana Jones 4 pretty much showed the guy had gone insane. One line summed up Steven Spielberg's feelings towards Indiana Jones 4 - 'I always stay faithful to George's stories'. Read between the lines and he's basically saying 'dont blame me!'. The alien in that film was the least of my worries, it was Shia La Boeuf's casting which was obviously there as a ploy to start a new franchise. Thankfully, everyone hated him.
