as much as i wish we could be in the champions league.. it is better that we dont.  we dont have the quality to survive ... our defense would be split open and we'll be routinely embarrassed

Good point. Our defending has got so bad it is untrue. Jones is F***ing useless as well.

I made this point earlier and posters came at me for that. We don't have it to play in that level. Top 8 club at best. Table doesn't lie.

But we need the money that CL football pays.

      Yup.
Plus if you're afraid to try then you are never gonna do anything are you?

      Anyway, its academic now.

Annoying thing is I quite fancy Spurs to stumble, but Arsenal will be the ones to nick in if they do.
God, even Everton still have a chance.

As much of an optimist as I am we wont be finishing in the top four this season.

Sad to say it and I normally won't but out form is far too erratic to think we will get the points necessary.

you know the weird thing... there never really seems to be an "important" time in our season.  It's always still too early, or it's already too late.  We lost to West Brom on the opening game of the season.... "oh, it's just one game."  Drew at Swansea... "oh, it's just November."  Then, all of a sudden it's March and it's "well, the season was over anyway."  Weird that.

No chance now unfortunately. On yesterday's form we look like we're going to make harder work of our gift of a run in than necessary.

Hope to be proved wrong but think Europe's out of the question for next year. Gutted because despite the stop start nature of our season, we do actually look like we're progressing.

So we've lost a game and now it's an impossible task, yet more or less everyone last week was saying that we could afford to lose one and still be in with a chance.

Does it matter that we fell at the first hurdle and not the last game of the season?  We've still only lost one game.

We just have to win all the rest  ;D

When was the last time were were 4th in the table for even a week? The decline since 2009 has been incredible. Was it Xabi or Sami's leadershiip presence in the dressing room we miss the most?

Can't believe spurs lost today. Had we won yesterday we would be just 6 points off 4th place now. All of a sudden we're in the race.

We "are" in the race?? 4th is just a day-dream in the fantasy world, to be honest, we dont deserve to be in the UCL after such a pathetic play yesterday and being very inconsistent.. If Spurs repeat what they did last year, self-destruct, we would be lucky to pip them to 5th, of course, considering we overtake the bitters who might still be 6 points ahead after their game in hand. They have to play us, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs, all away.. So 6th is the least we should finish

Gunners will definitely go all out for that last UCL spot, aided by their least competitive run-in..
