Cole, easily man of the match.

On the result, it was embarassing.

So. Philosophy is to keep possession.
Should have been what we did in the last few minutes.
Lack of discipline from the first team players after the fringe players had done enough.
Frustration, as is standard from LFC lately.
Match YB result now, win or draw.
      Lose and we are out.

We were lacking in respect of the opposition

      Positive points though

Joe cole nearly managed 90 minutes
      Shelvey is becoming beastly
Our passing game is quickly becoming the best in the league
The Hillsborough banner  Massive respect for those fans after that

Only caught the first 15 minutes so didn't see much. Did not expect much either from that line up seems Rodgers did not learn alot from the Swansea cup game.

Don't understand why he didnt start with the best team get a few goals in then rest the likes of Suarez and co.  We are now in a position where we have to go away from home and get a result to qualify or potentially face being out of 2 competitions before Christmas, putting more pressure on BR.

We actually played much better before Suarez/Sterling came in, had nothing to do with get a few goals and rest them, we had the goals and gave them right back.

Cole shockingly good.  Match that performance ten games on the trot, accept a 50% pay cut, and he can stay.

I have not seen the match so its no comment from me on the result. The thing that saddens me is these are the matches we should be winning. In the prediction league i went for us to win 3-nil  and a few years back that was to be expected.

Haven't seen the game. Why was Wisdom subbed after half an hour? Injured?

One positive to take from this is Joe Cole's performance as I understand?

      Good job we drew then.

It wasn't team selection that cost us tonight really. If anything the first team players (Gerrard, Suarez and Sterling) came on with a poor attitude and put the fringe players under pressure.

Suarez played for himself when he came on and over played, Sterling was naive at best or ridiculously dim at worst and Gerrard was the worst of the lot for being a lazy c**t.

We were arrogant in that last 10 minutes and deserved everything we got. Hope a lesson has been learnt tonight.

Bit harsh, but I do agree the senior players never added much, not counting sterling as he is 17 and still learning.

We should have just kept the ball for last 5 mins, we would have won. !

So, on 83 minutes I thought to myself that I was loving the fact that even with 10 minutes left we're confident enough to still be going for a goal, one minute later I thought to myself that it might be better if we just saw the game out and then they scored. I felt jinxed. We could've done passing practice for the last ten, we've done it before.

I'm sure a lesson has been learned.

Did anyone else think we actually played well last night - was just undone by two quality strikes after a bit of poor marking ?

It seems a lot of doom and gloom at the moment but there definitely was a lot more positives last night.

No blame for the first. Should have saved the second george sorry! But we are not going to agree so there is no point debating. But the defending was dreadful for both goals was dreadful. It was just plain lazy for the second goal, no hint of a tackle, block. He had all f*cking day!

BR needs to start taking this competition seriously. Its bad enough giving up the carling cup the way we did with less than a scratch team. This is europe ffs and we want to be in europe every season. If we are to get back into the CL this competition is where our team and especially the young lads will learn their trade about playing in europe thus gaining experience to play in the CL. We won this competition back in 2001 and playing in it and playing in some big games against big teams certainly helped us when we finally qualified for the CL.

We could have had a week off for the udinese game. We got what we deserved tonight. Roll on sunday.

Have you seen the deflection now for the second to see how hard it would have been to save it ?

You just know that all the cole baiting (of which I'm also guilty) it's a certainty he'll grab one tonight. ;D

Just to add, so will Downer get one.

Ah F**k it, one for Pepe too. ;D

Half right, Downing is still sh*te.

This may sound stupid, but the team that scores the most will win this.

We need a good strong 11 playing with no reservists.

They can and do score, we need to score more.

Strong team and scare the sh*t out of them, ATTACK ATTACK, ATTACK.

Now I'm no master tactician, or even mystic, but if I can see what we needed last night, why can't the professionals?

this is the problem when you dont start with a team to win the game and then add players to it as the night goes on.

It's not often I agree with you, but YES!

Cole is the man of the match for me! One assist and a goal are good statistics! :D

We should have taken the game more seriously, though! Not the player selection was bad, the attitude by the players on the pitch was bad, especially in the last 10 minutes   >:(

Forgot to say before but in my opinion Assaidi deserves a special mention and more of a chance in the first team.

Another performance like that and I propose a new song for Joe Cole to the "when he gets the ball he scores a goal" tune.

Joey Cole. Joey Cole. Joey-Joey Cole.
We wrongly thought you were an arsehole, Joey-Joey Cole.

Felt it too, the attitude was not good and it seemed we were expecting Young Boys to be KO by our goal  and that we were safe. BR is one of the main culprit in this case but I like the passes and Young Boys several 1-2 passes were great to see, we should copy that I think.

Aside from that, I thought we played pretty well and could have won it twice over. It won't be the biggest disaster if we don't go through in any case, onwards and upwards.

More a case of Brendan trying to juggle a small squad in 4 competions this season.

If he kept playing all the experienced players in this and our league form suffered he would be crucified.
Exactly the case Si, Brendan has no choice in the matter - to be more succint we do not have the quality in the squad to meet expectation at all levels.

Real uphill battle to qualify for the knock out stages now, very frustrating to concede so late on. Perhaps it is now time to concentrate on the Premier league if we do not go through. Also thought Cole had a good game.
