Cavani would be me dream signing (think we have a slight chance of getting him in summer but it is only slight I'm affraid!)
As for how many we'll really bring in think it may depend on if any leave. I'll say this I think we'll av 2 or 3 more players on our squad list than is currently there. So if two leave think we could see as many as 4 or 5 coming in. If that's the case I think at least 2 will be loanees.
1. Long. Throw him in as I thought we should have gone for him when he was with Reading in Championship, has proved to me what I thought in the highest division. Knows where the back of the net is, good in the air as well as on the floor. His movement is impeccable and I think amongst better players he will thrive. Only year and half left on his contract.
2. Lallana. I see lots of quality in this lad, it's a position we need a player who can not only unlock defences but also add 10-15 goals a season from. I believe in a few years he will be at a 'big' club and would like us to steal a march on others. Can operate on left side or behind front man. Two and half years left on contract come Jan.
3. Lescott (people will hate me with him being an ex blue nose), but out of favour at current club. Would come in and give good competition to Agger/Skrtel (not enough true competition to make them think they'll be dropped). Would provide quality 3rd cb if we go with wing back formation like we've been toying with this year. Year and Half left on contract come January. Negative point on him is his age.
Others I considered in terms of squad strenthening James Forrest, Andre Ayew, Mathieu Debuchy.
I don't see big names coming in January, I think the summer will hopefully bring in the players we crave. I doubt very much any of the above will sign. But was getting bored of the different posters choosing 3 of Sturridge, Huntelaar, Walcott, Ince! So thought I'd spice things up a bit.
