This new style of BR will always need a variation that only Andy Carroll can provide. A game changer. When the tiki taka (whatever) style fails to break the opposition, the introduction of Carroll will introduce a new twist to the attack.

Anyone worked out yet why we wearing black last night and it can't be that bollocks to do with the ref wearing red?

I thought it might be something to do with having to wear the black kit for so many games in the season.

I think Sahin on his worse day is better than Downing and Hendo on their best.

      Yes.

Sahin on his worst day is better than both combined.

      YES.

Agreed. I said the same in this thread during the match

Sahin is so far from his best at the moment but still scored 3 goals this season and made 3 assists.

It's not much but when a team has players like Downing and Henderson, to whom every single goal/assist is like a f***in annual event, it does mean a lot.

      Bang on.

We miss too many chances to be a top 4 side. When was the last time Henderson\Downing\Allen contributed to a goal? you cannot carry 3 players...

we are not. We are scoring too many goals for a mid table side sitting for points above relegation zone.

Not only will we pay £4mil for him but we will probably pay him a lot more for his copntract than he wanted.

You're also under the assumption that him playing in the ressies and the occasional cup game for us would have led him to develop to be the player he is now. It was a mistake to let him go, but it's not as if he was a massive miss last season. He is doing very well at Blackpool, but he wouldn't have got games for us under Kenny.

Time to move on and don't look back, with his demands it'll never end. What's next, he comes back and we give him 1st team football and he demands a central striker role and 150k per week? Demanding players will always be demanding, they're no loyalty to any club that they're attached to and it's not going to end here. Ok. he went to Blackpool and he performed well, but it's not the PL yet. Let him go at 550k and get him back at 4mil  will be truly embarassing to the club.

I don't see the embarrassment angle whatsoever, won't be the fist time this has happened.  The one that pops into my head was Mr Ferguson trying to re-sign Beardsley for United, after the club had let him go on a free and he was willing to top the record breaking fee  we eventually paid. Now that would be embarrassing, breaking the transfer record for a player you released on a free.
