In fairness, looking at our bench, it was hard to see who he could bring on to change things. It was all like-for-like.

He could have went three at the back and thrown an extra body in midfield as that's where we were West Ham were winning the game, Diame was bossing it and was the best player on the pitch until he done his hammy in.

One thing I will say is Rodgers tactics can't accomodate for Referee's and the c**t we had today was shocking, I noticed Rodgers didn't talk to Sky, 'angry with the ref?'

Massive win today. I voted for a loss before the match because really I couldn't see us coping with their physical threat, add to that Suarez's suspension. But great credit to the players and the manager as well. Glen is the best RB in the league by miles now, Cole is finding his feet and providing us with what we most need: finishing. Hendo is improving all the time and Allen was all energy. Unlucky Gerrard own goal, but the team showed character and responded in the best fashion :)
It's been ages since the team lifted Gerrard, not vice versa ..

what can he do he has done everything in his power to speak to the Refs and its got us nowhere.Even those who really were vitriolic towards Luis are now saying how unfairly treated he is.We really need to up the noise at Anfield and make sure the Refs feel some pressure from us for a change.

The most important thing to me is that as a team we are learning to hold onto leads (udinese game)and are gaining belief to come back from behind
That always seems to be our problem in the past but the spirit to fight back is hugely encouraging.

He left it until after Diame went off mate and up until that point Diame was bossing the midfield and West Ham were totally on top and probably would have stayed on top if he hadn't gone off.

For me during that period, big sam was winning the tactical battle and I'd have liked to have seen Rodgers address it especially when our midfield was getting out fought.
Johnson was also exposing their left all through the game and he was't given much  help .

What I meant by that statement mate, was Rodgers that angry with the ref he didn't speak to Sky in fear of being reprimanded ?

I mean let's be honest, Sterling was assaulted when he was kicked in the guts, Allen could never have got out of the way for that shot so was never a penalty, then the Shelvey penalty was a stone waller backed up by the fact the ref gave us a free kick for a very similar challenge just moments later.

Got away with that. It's great to get the win but for the most of that game West Ham were by far the more dangerous team!

Yes it is, good point. Normally it's defeats that have the larger post counts.

Am AMAZED not to see Agger or Skrtel in the MOM options poll?????

I thought both of them were fantastic today, especially Agger who reminded me of Carra in his prime with that performance. He was winning headers, making tackles, blocking shots against a very physical West Ham side.

      Massive win.

Even with Stewart Dogshit in the side we came up trumps.

Johnson was immense, penalty decision was harsh but very important three points that.

      4 points between 4th and 12th.  And 5 points between 12th and 13th.  Madness.

Agger my MoM too. How good is it having him playing regularly? Didn't think we'd ever see it happen a couple of years back.

One of the best centre backs in the league Europe.

Glad it's not just me then! both opf them were terrific today. After a shaky start to the season Skrtel has rediscovered his form of last year and Agger has stepped it up another 10% for me this year. He looks stronger (in the air and in the tackle) and is having a fine season. The back 4 looks very strong at the moment with enrique rediscovering his form of Sep-Jan last year.

      Fantastic win today.

Wasn't the best we've played, didn't have our strongest team out, some strange decisions by the Manager but I couldn't give a flying f**k 'cos we won  :scarf:

When Shelvey went into the box on his slalom run in added time I thought Lucan, Elvis and Shergar might have to make an appearance but the ref duly obliged by waving away all appeals. Will we get a penalty this season?!?

I'm sure I saw them ghosting across the pitch but as you say, the ref waived them away  :f_tongueincheek:

No I don't think we will mate but if we do they'll all come at once  ;)

Missed most of the match today (was forced to leave home after we went 1 up), but I'm pleased we won the game. 4 points behind Top 4, is it? Not too bad after all.
