Sorry to be obtuse but scoring more goals than your opponent is the most critical aspect of the game.

 Of course it's a fact. The nature of football is that sometimes the result doesn't indicate how the game has gone. Celtic for instance aren't better than Barcelona, and nor were they at Celtic Park. Just happens sometimes.

If we started playing like Villa every match I would be sick Liverpool have been much the better side but yet again have failed to put the chances away and are paying the price .

exactly my thoughts, you cant rely on the other team missing chances every week

It's not just that, our wide players like to stay wide too much. Raheem doesn't offer enough threat coming inside and has constantly tried to get down to the byline time and again, that isn't going to work with our set-up. The width has to come from the full backs and the inside forwards get inside. Shelvey was our most effective, while not taking his shots well enough he was a good support and a threat in the box, taking him off has simply forced us wider and wider with hopeful balls in. Hopefully Ince / Sturridge will solve this problem, because it's our biggest problem in my opinion.

Before people were on him because he was talking about how long it would take for us to compete.....so now he targets top 2 and people are  having a go at him. Gaffer can't win. Maybe he should just keep his mouth shut and let everything play out?
