So people who is your choice.  So many to choose from this year, all worthy contenders too.

My choice, purely for the magnitude of his win in France, is Bradley Wiggins.

Bradley Wiggins for me too. Amazing achievement to win the Tour de France, then follow it with an Olympic gold medal.

      Wiggins or Murray

Both achieved outstanding results in the Olympics and outside of the Olympics.

In terms of achievements it has to be Wiggins.

However, my love for Andy Murray goes beyond giving the award to the right person. Come on Andy.

Fergies face at Sunderland when they realised Aguero got the winner, priceless.

I would like to see a Para Olympian take the award, much difficult for them to achieve what they do.

Wiggins for myself, but I wouldn't mind any out of him, Farah, Ennis or Murray. All 4 are just out of this world. Unbelievable year. First ever Tour de France winner, first British grand slam winner in tennis since Fred Perry 70+ years ago. And of course the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games IN the capital with all those medals. The best year of sport I've ever seen.

Seems like only yesterday when he was only giving that speech to the delegates in Singapore 2005 pleading for them to hand London the Olympic games. Can't think of anyone more deserving for his role in London 2012 and of course his running career.

As much as Bradley deserves the award I really wanted Andy Murray to win but congratulations Bradley.

Also although all the winners were well deserved I thought this year there was an air of inevitability about almost every award and I do like when a surprise or two pops up.

Quite surprising as I would have thought Murray second and Ennis third before tonight.

Jessica does get a lot of media exposure though which would help her vote.

Percentage of those votes for the 1-2-3: Wiggo 30.25%, Jess 22.92%, Murray 14.17%. More on the other nine Monday morning

Not quite the one vote margin they talked about earlier.

I guess you're right there about Jess Ennis but she deserved it as well because she could have been in the media spotlight acting like most other people in the media spotlight but every time she has appeared in the media spotlight she's come across as probably one of the nicest people in the whole world.
