Promote Carra into back room staff
      Dec 29, 2012 05:27:44 pm
I think promoting Carra into the back room staff sooner rather than later would be a masterstroke, he is meant to a statto on football, think he taken most coach badges and he has the life blood of the club in his heart, also he could give some of the underperforming players a kick up the arse,he is also well respected ?

Should be giving them a kick up the arse now to be honest, does not need to go backstage to do it.

Wouldn't have him anywhere near the coaching team to be honest, there's enough inexperience at this club from top to bottom at the moment.

And the way we have been defending, might still need his experience on the pitch

Maybe a duel role he has worked with a lot of different managers and maybe will be able to put some valuable input in  :o

Only just finishing his badges - get him working with the youngsters first

But I think in the future he could possibly be a good manager - certainly don't see Gerrard doing coaching etc though

      Can imagine Carra's defensive coaching.

When the ball comes near you, hoof it up field.

Before you step onto the pitch make sure your boots hooves are tight and make sure your studs horse shoes are screwed in. Neiighhhhh la'

Yeah, he might not fit BRs 'play it out of defense' philosophy - but sometimes hoofing it IS the best option :)

My main point is srktel agger enrique johnson are not bad defenders, they just dont defend as a unit sometime i feel the defence needs to hoof it out or upfield were giving away to many goals my passing it to death. kennady, hansen, lawrenson, neal could all pass put they all new when to hoof it out,
When Carra is playing we always look more organised even tho we lack a bit of pace.

I know it's only a joke but I think Carra's coaching philosophy will surprise a few - he may of gone for a safety approach as a player but he has studied all forms and loves the current Spanish way.

Really hope he gets a chance to manage us

Was about to post something similar mate. Carra plays the game to his strengths, but as a coach he could take an entirely different view. All speculation of course and I don't think he'll take up a coaching role until the end of the season, but it needs to be a fairly junior role. As has been mentioned already, we have a lot of inexperience in the back room staff at the moment.

Would like to think that Carra is already giving the team the boot they need behind the scenes.

Putting a guy on each post at corners would be a start. Who's responsible for ensuring that? Coach, or someone on pitch at the time. We were a mess for Jones's goal.

Carra should get some kind of an Academy role before going to the backroom staff. Could be pretty good working with youngsters to give them a winning mentality and appreciation of the club from an early age.

If he's going to coach we'll just have to make sure we've got an interpreter, especially for the foreign players.

Quite easy to interpit  foot, ball, hoof.
