Even though Couts had many years left on his Reds contract, a player disrupting the season like he had twice, clamouring to flee the club to pastures new, grates on me as a lifelong supporter.

Yes I’d have loved him to stay for the whole season but f*** him, we’ll move on and find a suitable replacement. He definitely is not replaceable. Phil has produced some wonder goals and exquisite play but he hasn’t regularky been unplayable.

That’s a huge amount of money and we can rebuild to negate the loss of him however FSG have to spend more than they generate from player sales.
Ok, we’ve brought in VVD and Keita is coming. I think both will be brilliant additions, however we do need another X factor player this season when the chips are down in big matches st the business end of the season.
I still have not given up hope on Lemar and Goretzka joining, however that’s most likely in the summer.
Sanchez and Mahrez are interesting candidates for the remainder of thus season and I’d love to buy either.
Everyone is clamouring for a new keeper. Yes we probably do need a proven, level headed keeper however I’m in the minority when I hope Karius gets an extended run in the first team.
I can breathe when he plays, as opposed to the palpitations that Simon gives me regularly.
I think the future is looking brought for the club, but we must capitalise on such a good position this season instead of making do abs concentrating on next.
