City highlighted the drop of when Can or Ox isn't in the team.
That 3 needs some powerful players in it to perform.
Milner or Henderson aren't the solution.

Best scenario:

Can gets a new contract.
New GK.
New player for LM/LW.

My problem with Can as the solution is that I just haven’t seen anything like the consistency we need.

When he plays like City he is a real force of nature but for every one like that it feels like there’s 3 where he’s running through treacle and slopppy.

I’ve lost a bit of faith there I’m afraid.

£500k a week is a hell of a lot of money just to get an extra option, for that money it should be a key player, the kind of player who can single handedly win games.

On that I agree with you, you can never really have enough options but I think we are ok at the moment. Of course we'll miss Coutinho as he was and is a special player, but I think we showed against Citeh, that we still have more than enough talent in the team.

Well there's an easy solution to that, sign a new contract for presumably more money per week than most of us see in a year, focus on the footy, especially getting consistent, and becoming indispensable to the team, then renegotiate the contract for even more insane amounts.

Or don't worry about it and enjoy having quality options up front,
which is what we did for the first half of this season.

The best thing about having "The Fab Four", wasn't that we had Mane, Firmino, Salah & Coutinho on the pitch sometimes.
It was that it allowed Klopp to rest one or two (Dropping them to the bench) without it having a massive negative effect on the team.

Without Coutinho, the problem now isn't that the team suffers but more that there is no margin for injuries.
The club needs another signing. Not to drop somebody from the first team, but to have options that allow rotation and sharpness.

Coutinho is like losing two players in the squad. LM & LW. Somebody like Sanchez would have been a phenomenal replacement,
but the Manchester clubs made him untouchable for anyone else. The hole in the Liverpool squad is still there. Klopp's gone from
being spoiled for choice in the forward positions to being light on the left hand side, with no options outside of Woodburn as backup.

Completely agree with this. It's not the direct impact of selling Coutinho that's bothering me, ie his ability on the field, it's the fact that having a player of that quality allowed us to drop one or two other attackers and mix it up a bit. 

Our rotation has been a strength this season. I think it's kept teams guessing as to what they will face and the exit of Coutinho makes our fielded eleven a bit more predictable and that any injury will as you note deplete the quality on show.

It would be lovely and ideal to sign someone of quality this window. Imperative even!

Think he'd be stupid not to, especially with Roma now (supposedly) selling Emerson and Dzeko to Chelsea, after having sold Salah in the summer... and we probably can pay better wages too. Only way he might not be interested is if some other European giant comes after him, but those clubs seem to have settled GKs at the moment

All we should care about is the club buying as many top quality players as they can.

I know we won't be signing anyone but with Chelsea getting Dzeko and United getting Sanchez while we just sold one of our most important players, you just gotta feel depressed a little.
We can always bring on Danny Ings or Solanke to change the games though.

I am still shocked about Dzeko. Roma are still competing for a CL spot and are still in CL... doesn't make sense.

All the excuses we have used for not being able to sign players just come down to us not willing to pay the price.

Yup, difference between us and the likes of City, United, and Chelsea really.
Chelsea main striker having a goal drought for the past few games and they went ahead and splashed the cash on a quality striker.
City bought Bravo, didn't work out so they bought Emerson the following season.
Meanwhile we had Mignolet as our main keeper for the past 5 seasons.

It should at least have them pondering. This is the exact worry people had....when one of Salah,  Firmino or Mane dropped off in quality or form....what do we do. I'd say tonight a couple of them did (Mane and Salah were both average for me) and it was easy to see how much it affected us.
