I can say with utter certainty that Pep has been one of the architects of a coaching revolution and has absolutely changed the game.

Itā€™s complementary to my view that Kloppo has done similarly with less ā€œfashionableā€ or ā€œestablishmentā€ clubs and consequently is the perfect manager for us.

      Thereā€™s zero conflict there.

Echoes my thoughts mate. Pep is superb, incredible record and I really like him, I enjoy listening to him talk about football. But Klopp is absolutely perfect for us. Heā€™s a classic underdog, working class and a leftie. Somehow he doesnā€™t seem the right fit for a petro dollar club or even a club like Munich. Weā€™re very lucky to have him.

Donnarumma being mention in the press this morning, have watched much of Milan last couple of seasons, what do people think? Reckon it'll be a pretty hefty price tag

With a transfer fee of between Ā£40 million & Ā£60 million, F**k that I would rather stick with Karius, just buy a back up keeper to replace Mignolet on the bench!!

Between price tag and the drama that has gone on with him, his agent and the team, not worth it to me. And his performance vs. Juventus in that cup game is probably one for the ages. He has that bad.

Milan are under pressure to sell, they are in the position Roma were in when we got Salah. All the stuff Iā€™ve seen about Donnarumma is that they will take around 35mill, half the amount they were demanding before.

Also every player has a bad game, doesnā€™t mean itā€™s reason not to sign them.

Just read the other day, AC Milan could be in big trouble, they've supposedly run afoul of FFP. That could likely affect his pricetag.

From what I can gather, they were banking on getting CL for next season to make up for their spending, failed miserably and finished 6th.
They spent something like 200-250mill last summer, they were always running the risk.

Is he bollocks a leftie, he earns Ā£5million a year, is he donating it all to charity or something? I think I read that he's a social democrat, which is pretty much in the centre of politics.

Oh I very much doubt he would be, he is a German and for him the EU is fantastic so he wouldn't want any disruptions to it but that's a discussion for another thread. The main thing is that we are unbelievably lucky to have him as our manager, he is a fantastic and seems to be a top top bloke as well whatever his political leanings may or may not be.

That's because they make way more money and are in less debt than Milan.

Are you actually comparing the 2 teams? Come on, itā€™s plain as day why PSG can do that, just like City are more than capable of doing and getting away with.

Not to mention, didn't PSG technically not "buy" Neymar? Didn't the money come from Qatar, paid directly to Neymar for promotional services for the next World Cup and then he used the money to buy out his contract, basically meaning PSG pays nothing on the books (even though they were behind the money coming from Qatar)?

No. Honestly, we should look past 'trying to fit players'. We should be looking at getting specialists and starting-11 material who can improve the team. City FFS are getting Jorginho despite Fernandinho featuring in the 'PL's best team' and despite having Gundogan. That should be the mentality (if we have the cash)!

Yep, there is nothing paid for Mbappe yet either. Not that itā€™s a lot of money to them anyway mind.

Maybe Jorginho doesn't want to play for us? What do you suggest we do with Gini? He played the 6 awhile back and did fine. As backup for Henderson I think he'd be fine and we can focus on another attacking mid.

I know itā€™s only a recent Twitter rumour however Iā€™d love if the link to Sergej Milinkovic Savic grows stronger.

Watching some of his highlights, itā€™s difficult not to be excited by his exquisite skills.
His composure and swagger remind me of Zidane.
He would command a massive fee however if we add players of the ilk of Fekir and himself, it would add so much polish and style to our already good midfield.
These are the top class players we need to hunt our elusive No.19.

Both are perfect solutions to unlock stubborn, park-the-bus-bas**rds that weā€™ve struggled against.

What do we do with Gini? Again.. its called building a capable squad that can challenge for 4 trophies. So that, we dont say, again,  "Screw the goalless draw derby, we got bigger fish to fry!". And not only that, it lets us tinker with formations without having to ask our players to play a different role too often.

Gini played #6 for a couple of games? Not undermining his play, there is a reason why we were linked with Jorginho. And we ARE getting an attacking mid, if the Fekir rumors have base. Hendo, Gini, Milner, Ox, Lallana, Keita, Fekir (the last 2 are basically replacements for Can, Coutinho, and Ox doesnt play until December) would be our options and I would be elated if we are in for a #6. Again, if we have the cash!

We more than other fans seem obsessed with what to do with players when we buy them, or the incumbent, when we should worry about that when we have them.

This season has proven how big a squad you need to compete on all fronts and were only one injury away in CM from being totally screwed.

No idea if we want Jorginho and no idea how good he is but I'd like us to strengthen in every key position this summer and if the current player on that position lose his place so be it.

However I think what goes against Ndidi is what Klopp looks for as his number 6 and that someone who uses the ball well and Ndidi doesn't stack up there

What is also hard to quantify in these numbers is how teams play against us as how they play against Leicester.. teams don't tend to try to play through our midfield as if they lose it and get turned around they are in big trouble. Also looking at Vardys numbers he doesn't do what Bobby does to stop the ball coming onto his 6 as often

If you were looking for a traditional number 6 in the Macherano style he would be a really good shout.. however Klopp isn't looking for that type

He's also only 1cm taller than Henderson

I agree with you as we can see he is very fond of Can in that position despite him being much more of a box to box guy than a traditional CDM. However, I was just diving into how he might be thinking now that he has two very good box to box midfielders playing either side of the CDM position in Keita and OX.

I believe it would be out of order to just put a guy who can only defend in that position...at this point just put Klavan in there and it will be the same thing. However, I still think the best we could do is to find a very defensively solid CDM. I wouldn't ignore his ability to play the ball up front, but it also wouldn't be the selling point for me with us having Salah, Firmino, Mane, Ox, Keita and two very offensively gifter full-backs all supporting the attack.
