You probably watch Dortmund more than anyone here, do you rate Pulisic as highly as some here? And if you had to choose, who would you have, Brandt, Bailey, Pulisic or Chiesa ?

I do rate him very highly.. I really like brandt and for me pulisic just has the edge over him. Bailey is a bit hot and cold but haven't seen enough of Chiesa apart from the odd game, saw his old man play a fair bit that makes me feel old

Not based on last year, but on promising signs in previous years. He has scored some good goals for us and he's still relatively young.

I would think a list price at 27 million, getting 24 million is quite good business.

Can’t think of a single world class player that’s ever come from the USA. At least not from the men’s game. Pulisic could well be the first. Would do wonders for the game over there I should imagine, particularly with the joint North American World Cup to look forward to.

Indeed, I don't think there has ever been one that even got close to world class level... in the women's game it's a different story though, they've got an amazing team!

If Shaqiri can play behind a striker, then I don't think we need Fekir. (I could not watch the match against ManU but I read somewhere Shaqiri played behind the striker. If it's true then it means that we can have

I agree, even if we don't desperately need him right now, this is our best chance to get him before his value becomes insane.

So we've these in :


Naby Keita - (RB Leipzig) £52.75M (deal agreed last summer)
Fabinho - (AS Monaco) £39.3M (fee could rise to £43.7M)
Isaac Christie-Davies - (Chelsea) Free transfer
Xherdan Shaqiri - (Stoke City) £13.5M
Alisson Becker - (AS Roma) £56.2M (fee could rise to £66.8M)

Plus a dozen or so that came back from loan so no one can say that the squad we have now is thin.
At least we have got some numbers.

Must have an eye watering wage bill especially with the new ones in.

Be interesting to see who goes out of the door in the next couple of weeks.

With three new outfield players ( not including the free ) we have what is regarded as the maximum number that can be brought in during one window ...to easily integrate ...without upsetting the team's balance and playing style.

If Fekir does materialise it would be a bonus .... if it doesn't then we have done some brilliant business anyway this summer.

That is true .

Personally I think we are all done in this window. We would all like the very best in every position but that's not possible. We've strengthened where we needed to. Migs was a liability and when we brought in VVD, Karius did improve but he is still young and let's not forget we only paid like £5 million on him, that isn't improving that's plugging a gaping hole. Allison is improving that position and we've had to pay top dollar for it in the same way we had to pay top dollar for VVD.

Our midfield looked weak and void of ideas. It showed when we lost Hendo to his injury's in the past. We've brought in Fabinho and Keita and again had to pay out on them. Now I don't know if Klopp plans to go with 2 or 1 DM this season but either or will give alot more protection to our back 4. I've heard people on here that they would like another CB because they are not sure on Lovren. Well Lovren improved when he played as a RCB alongside Virgil and after the world cup he's had I bet he's going to be buzzing to get back knowing he's got some classy midfielders in front of him.

On to the constant " we have no creative No.10 in our side or lack of a creative midfield", have you seen Keita play? This guy is midfielder we've been crying out for for years. So we didn't get Fekir...so what. When Keita links with our front 3 he's going to be all the creativity we need. Dont get me started on Shaqiri, I really think he's going to show the Premier league what he's about this season and could work out the bargin of the summer. Dont get me wrong I had my doubts but I also had my doubts on the OX and look how he turned out.

I'm more than happy with our business the summer and as it stands we are the envy of the whole league with what we've pulled off so far. All your cities, Mancs, chavs and spuds are sitting up and taking notice and they now know, if they didn't before, that we are a serious threat this season.

Sorry, but posts like this infuriate me.

It's completely irrelevant who our midfielders are to whether Lovren is good enough or not.  If it was relevant then why not give me a game at centre half then? I've got Keita and Fabinho infront of me so why not?

Did he improve next to VVD or was our attack that explosive his errors went unnoticed a lot of the time?

Refresh your memory and YouTube dzekos goal in the semi final at anfield. We were up 5-0 at the time so nobody bat an eyelid. But that goal is just classic Lovren. First of all his positioning is a disgrace, he's ten yards behind the rest of the back four. Really school boy stuff. He's nowhere near his man (dzeko), and he completely misjudges the flight of the ball which goes right over his head, straight to dzeko, who then bags with ease. You can stick any midfielder in the world infront of Lovren, stick a hundred infront of him if you want, he will still make that same mistake. The midfield is completely irrelevant.

As I said, we were up 5-0 at the time so nothing came of it. But if we were drawing and dzeko took that chance to win the game then it would have been highlighted much, much more.

If you rate Lovren that's fine. But please don't bring other players into the equation to justify your reasons why.
