Wonder if he’s talked to Ajax about that yet? They may have different opinions.

There might be something in his contract which is why he thinks it

After the first leg vs Barca one thing is evidently clear....

The need a good clear out this summer....

The three back up strikers, Sturridge, Origi, and Shaqiri.....

Four Midfielders, Lallana, Gurjic, Gini, and Milner...

And two defenders, Lovren and Moreno all these players just offer what we already have, just at a lower level...

We need some quality Game changers

Zaha would be a good start, could play him anywhere across the front line...

Even if we only get Zaha and another Midfield. and a CB this summer, just so long as they are quality player and in attack and midfield they offer something different

Seen rumours of Nicolas Pepe, exactly the sort of player needed to provide back up/competition to the front 3.

Last night screamed out for a couple of top, top players we needed upfront outside our front-3. Rumors that Juve want €80mil for Dybala, that would be a far superior signing compared to other links and a real statement. He can actually be a fantastic #10, can play false-9 and fill that void we were supposed to fill with Fekir.

If Dybala and Pepe were the 2 major signings this summer, I would be over the moon.

Talked to a Juventus fan this past week (my barber) and he'd be fine with them moving Dybala on. Thinks he's stagnated with them.

I want a striker though, a proper 9!!! Surely there is someone out there with huge potential like Piatek ?

Klopp set up doesn’t include a “proper 9”

Just like his setup didn't include a proper DM, right? Correct me If I am wrong, but isn't Brewster a proper 9? He certainly likes him a lot. Have we not played Salah , Mane and even Firmino as a 9? Did Klopp at Dortmund play similar to us but with a proper 9? How about 4231 formation we have used this season? It can work, it's a good alternative, and even better if the alternative turns out to be exceptional.

Someone “exceptional” is not going to sit on the bench and be an “alternative” - we don’t need a “proper” number 9 - Klopp wants players that are fluid and adaptable especially in the front 3 - Firmino is perfect for it and players like Brewster will be able to develop and adapt with them being so young. Klopp never has been fixated on having rigid players for rigid positions - all about being adaptable

I wouldn't say Klopp isn't 100% interested in rigid players, but I do agree that maybe he does not favour the rigid players, but then no one expected us to buy a Lucas replacement, and Fabinho is more a specialist DM than anything else. Werner is considered a striker and it seems like we have serious interest in him.

It's not about buying an established exceptional player, but more potential (20-23 yrs), and if he adapts quickly and turns out to be a gem, great, more competition and pressure for Firmino to perform! Even better if we go out and buy an established striker imo.

I just feel a striker can work and add something different, just look at how effective Alcacer has been for Dortmund.

Personally I'd break the bank to get Hazard, unless he is dead set on joining Real Madrid, he would be the perfect player to rotate in for Mane and Salah. I also like the idea of getting an out and out striker, just to change things around in certain games. Doesn't have to be a superstar but someone quick and strong with good feet, an up and coming prospect perhaps.

Brewster will be a key part of the squad next year.

If looking at the way we play I think we’re much more likely to buy a Fekir type than a stereotypical no.9.

It’s compelling cover for the front 3 we need and someone to knit the play a little.

I understand - to a degree - the desire for a goalscoring CF......on a certain level it should be a no-brainer BUT it’s about the sum of the parts.......

I see it a bit like “surf and turf” - sticking 2 great things together doesn’t mean the output is better.

We need both though, we need a Firminio replacement and a Sadio and Mo replacement. If we can get that, plus some cover for LB, then we will be an awesome team. I think a lot of the issues we had at the start of the year was because the forwards were all misfiring at the same time, imagine if we'd had 2 quality players to rotate in at that time, like Citeh have, that would make all the difference.

      Don’t disagree on numbers I just don’t think we’ll see a traditional type 9.

Brewster and a 9.5 would be my bet.

He doesn’t just have one way of playing.

Look at the strikers he had at Dortmund.

Isn't Lewandowski kind of a proper 9? Or does he do the Bobby thing? Never ever watched the Bundesliga.

I'm hoping we see someone who can play across the front line.

Having a "target man, traditional 9" isn't as useful in some situations as people might think.
IMO it's far better to have a player who can rotate in/out across the front, and do it as seamlessly as possible.
Short, quick, intricate passing in and around the box, link play, defensive play, goals, pace, vision. I don't really want much

People keep throwing out names, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Klopp and the transfer team go for someone who is not on the radar as far as the media is concerned. Then again, the media are such lazy fuckers these days, they get most of their "sources" from forums supposed ITK's.

F**k the "traditional 9" and keep building the attack.
If the players that come in are quality, I don't give  F**k what their name is or where they come from.

Diego Godin. Am I right in saying that about 1-2 years ago he was being linked with a big money move to several teams, in particular the Mancs. I remember he was being lauded as this top defender that essentially any team would want. Now fast forward a year or two and he’s being let go on a free transfer. What’s going on there?!
I’ve never seen a lot of him and he’s about 32/33 isn’t he?

Quite a list of relatively big name players going on a free this summer, think the only one we should be going for though is Rabiot.

Apparently, Milner is out of contrant this summer, and with Lallana being so injury prone, could we see Klopp offloading him? If we do lose both Lallana and Milner, surely it would be a no brainer to sign Rabiot?

Attitude is as important as talent when building a team, and Rabiot seems to have a problem.
Maybe it's just his current club and he really has been treated as badly as he thinks he has, or maybe he's a bit of a c**t who has his head up his arse.

      Not sure.

I like him though - technically good and great engine. Could see him excel under Kloppo..........IF there’s no attitude issues.

PS: did I read somewhere he’d binned his maw as his agent?

As ever, only time will tell.
Certainly when I've seen him, which admittedly hasn't been much, he looks like a good player, and the "attitude problem" might be no more than PSG propaganda. Didn't we hear similar things about Sakho?

Either way, we'll know soon enough.
