Sweetner, if not mistaken he's out of contract in 12 months, they valued him at £6 million, Magic Boy Edwards has offered £2 million and SVB on loan to cover the obvious less defender they now have to get the quick deal done.

It is a transfer on a permanent deal, but leaves Preston short a defender with only a day left in the transfer window, so by loaning them SVB it makes them whole and not risk having the deal be dependent on them finding a replacement first.

6mths I think was able to speak to other clubs in Jan think Celtic tried to get him pre contract

Watched some highlights, don’t know if he can reproduce it in the PL but he looks pretty good to me. Sounds like he has pace to burn and strong at positioning and tackling. Poor mans Virgil although not as good in the air. For 2m, seems like a no brainer, low risk, possible huge reward.

I would be surprised if we do, because for it to make sense you'd need a CB who is as good as Fabinho, or close to it, and you're not likely to find that type of quality in the January window. Otherwise you're just adding for sake of quantity and with the addition of Davies we have enough warm bodies.

Who wouldn't? but do you think we can get someone of similar quality in the January window? i highly doubt it, and now that we have Davies i don't care to bring in another CB for the sake of quantity.

i mean with the addition of Davies, our warm bodies are now Phillips and Davies. so we still need more. feels like the second signing could be an accelerated big buy.

It’s fine having another option but I was hoping it would be a more established defender than Ben Davies.
But I wish him well. It must be amazing for him. If he ends up with any winners medal this season then it’ll be an amazing story.

We'll sign an established CB in the Summer.

Then we'll be set for a few years.

I havent watched Car nor Ben Davies to know what kind of player they are. Ben Davies look like a done deal and i hope we dont sign more the 1 CB in the window.
Im starting to like the thought of Nat getting more play time, he has played for us few times and he has done well. He isnt the quickest, but he is good in the air and plays his heart out.

I haven’t seen much of Botman to comment if I’m honest. My concern with Car is that he appears a little too robust at times and slow and I really think he would struggle with the pace of the league. He’s attitude in the past has been a bit iffy too only broke into the marseille first team in his second season. Had a hard time adjusting to the league over there and I think it would be the same here especially thrown into the deep end from the onset.
