Sky sports reporting we are trying to get Kabak from Schalke.

£2.5m loan with an option to buy.

Schalke reluctant to let him go without a replacement coming in.

No mention of this in the article, just me surmising but could we see Nat heading back to Germany as part of the deal?

Looks like we're in for Kabak.

We've been monitoring him for a few months now so would be very happy with this.

As much as I'd be happy with Kabak as well as Davies, the rumour (this time) has come from Sky, so it is hard to take it seriously, sadly.
Wouldn't Kabak have been mentioned by some of the far more reliable sources before Sky got wind of it?

I haven’t seen much of Botman to comment if I’m honest. My concern with Car is that he appears a little too robust at times and slow and I really think he would struggle with the pace of the league. He’s attitude in the past has been a bit iffy too only broke into the marseille first team in his second season. Had a hard time adjusting to the league over there and I think it would be the same here especially thrown into the deep end from the onset.

I wonder was he scouted based on his potential. I read he shares similar defensive traits to Virgil. Also it would be worth signing Car just to get his girlfriend over to Merseyside. Holy Mother!

Out of the other defenders linked, Botman would be the ideal choice, followed by Car.

In the handful games I've seen him, he has looked pretty bad and he has not even stood out in a poor team. Some folks who I've spoken to who watch German football very often also don't rate him.

2 CB's would be great

Not sure if this has been mentioned on here, but we're only actually paying £500k upfront for Davies, according to The Athletic.
The rest, up to £1.6m will be made up of add on's based on appearances and any achievements he plays a part in.
At that price if he becomes the 4/5th choice CB once everyone is back fit it is a no brainer.

Seen a fair bit of kabak and he has struggled,  but to be fair Schalke are absolutely sh*te and playing in a team that bad every week would drag anyone down.

With young players you don’t need to worry about how they were or are at their current/former teams, especially with someone like Klopp, you just know he can turn anyone into a world beater.

If we get Kabak on a loan deal it will be very clever business.

If he plays well then we have our new 3rd choice CB for next season. If it doesn't work out we don't buy and go for another CB in the Summer.

I havent watched Car nor Ben Davies to know what kind of player they are. Ben Davies look like a done deal and i hope we dont sign more the 1 CB in the window.
Im starting to like the thought of Nat getting more play time, he has played for us few times and he has done well. He isnt the quickest, but he is good in the air and plays his heart out.

I’m a Preston fan and can say that Ben Davies can easily make the step up to the premier league. He’s a very quick centre half, and his passing ability is excellent. I’m sure under klopp he’ll develop massively and play for England one day. I think overall this is a very very smart signing you’ve got yourself
