General LFC Transfer rumours/gossip thread

Just a thought: if (as we are lead to believe)  LFC only sign players who "fit" then clearly it is whatever they "fit" that is the problem.

Unless... unless, of course, the "fit" they speak of has more to do with a business profile than a footballing one. Hmm...

Lukaku and Ibra in their squad, plus Rashford and Martial, and he cuts his ties to other clubs to suck up to one he wouldn't start at.

I just want us to sign someone proven and an absolute b***ard of a bloke on the pitch to lead us from the back. A tough c**t that can drag a side and fire them up.

Saw someone retweeting James Pearce that, Klopp ideally wants to pair Can with Keita. However, the latter looks like he'll be the replacement.

Draxler/Lemar for Coutinho and Goretzka/Jean Seri for Can wouldnt be all that bad. The problem is we wouldnt have really strengthened the squad.

Both Goretzka and Seri are more imposing players than Can (to my eyes) so the squad is stronger in that regard.

Heard nothing of this but sounds like we're already putting the ground work in for these lads. Can't say I've seen anything of either of them and 'the new' Ballack,Goetze, Reus and Ozil all in one, that would be one helluva a player:

Ballack: Black hair.
Goetze: Has an eating problem.
Reus: Always injured.
Ozil: Lazy b***ard who can't be arsed defending.

He is clearly an upgrade no matter how old he is. If you watch him at Barca you would have to say age is just a number. I also would see him coming in and taking the arm band from Hendo. Talk about an upgrade in leadership.

His speed made up for a lot of errors in his game, and going to ground is always a last ditch thing in the defensive 3rd, which he did an awful lot of.
He'd get crucified in the air in the Prem as well if he played CB as some are advocating.

On top of that, I'd prefer to look forwards, and not keep going all dewey eyed about players from our past.

I am - you don’t get away at the level he’s been operating at “out of position” without reading the game exceptionally.

I agree his energy was a bonus but I think he’ll do a job somewhere for a bit yet.

Fair point, and no doubt he's a good player, but at Barca, he's not called on as often as he was here, simply because they keep the ball so well high up the field, which in turn allows him plenty of time to spot danger, and utilise his pace.

Yes, he can no doubt do a job somewhere, but it probably won't be here, and it won't be at CB in the prem.

From the little I've seen of Arthur, I think he's fantastic. Great ball retention and passing skills
