I think "massive" is the most overused word in English football when a player transfers.

"It's a massive club....... like I said massive............. This opportunity is massive for me" etc.

Thank God (intended) Sturridge broke the mold and went for "humongous"

      Federer will be gutted...

Signing sh*te like Borini and unproven wastes of space like Coutinho who may or may not do anything for 5 years

Yet letting a "world class" talent like Doni leave ...

Someone take his shoelaces off him before it's too late for the love of god

I know what you mean mate, he's been talking about the commercial sense in deals and making transfers less of a gamble.

Purslow must have had the foresight to see that Poulsen and Konchesky were going to sell a lot of shirts :D

Well, one things for sure, if Harry doesn't keep QPR up, he'll certainly have a hand in driving them down in to the doldrums as he did with Portsmouth.

I don't think United have done a lot in recent January windows, but it strange to see City and Chelsea so quiet in this window.

      FFP perhaps?

I think we're looking good there, don't you racer? Newcastle and QPR obviously doing some panic spending there to avoid relegation. Newcastle should be good financially, and did some good business too. QPR however, I think they're really F***ing themselfs over financially, can't end well. But we spend the most out of the better performing clubs, can't complain there.

When you look at it in the context of those above us, we have probably done the best business this window.

That QPR spending is crazy. They have put the house on staying up.
If that club gets relegated the owner will be off and the whole thing will be Pompey 2.0.

Gambling the future revenue of the club to stay up.

We've strengthened more than United, City, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal & Everton.
Leave the top two out of it.

Compared to Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal & Everton we have importantly strengthened our starting eleven.
      The others haven't really.

Only question then is it too little too late?
      7 points to 4th.
This time last year we were 10 points ahead of Newcastle.
They invested, we didn't. The rest is chaotic history.
