So short-sighted to dump him off before the end of the season. Still a bunch of fixtures he could feature in, and that's not even taking into account potential injuries.

He looks good in that shirt!!!

In all honesty, we should have signed him when he moved from Gala.  Now I fear that he is too expensive for us to bring to Anfield :(

      @JamesPearceEcho

Nuri Sahin's stay at #LFC is over. Paperwork on his return to Dortmund should be completed in the next couple of hours.

So short-sighted. Plenty of fixtures left to use him.

can we afford to offload that type of quality when we are already short on numbers and on quality.F***ing mindblowingly short sighted.

My initial support for cancelling loan was based on 3 things (and I'll re-state I was a massive fan of him per Madrid so not simply that I don't rate): -

      1) he hasn't looked fit or "at it" at all to me and hasn't been able to make any impact.
      2) as a general rule I do advocate cancelling loan deals quicker if not working - dont see why we supplement someone's else's failure.
      3) we would be getting either a replacement loanee or a new signing (crazy huh?!).

Naively after the summers f#ck ups it never occurred to me that we would reduce the squad (or net neutral) if you include Sturridge.

Surely if we needed the numbers in summer (given this was quite a late one) we still need now? Some very odd things going on just now.

We already have enough CMs in my opinion.

We need to replace him with a defender or another attacking player I reckon.

If Gerrard gets injured (and knock on wood there!) or needs rest, are Lucas, Allen, Henderson and Shelvey enough?

Basically this guy (writes for FourFourTwo) gives an English summary of the link above.
And it seems to me that Dortmund will get a better deal than us on him.
Still, nothing is official yet. Guy speaking is Hans-Joachim Watzke, their managing director.

Well, I think he was more of a CM, of which I think we have enough. Maybe not in quality though.

Still, I think what we need the most in midfield is a decent AM, which he wasn't.

      Liverpool confirm Sahin departure
Liverpool Football Club have confirmed an agreement has been reached with Real Madrid allowing midfielder Nuri Sahin's loan deal to end, so he can join another club with immediate effect.

Sahin arrived at Anfield for a season-long stay in August 2012, but will now spend the rest of the campaign with Borussia Dortmund, the side with whom he won the 2011 German championship.

The Real Madrid man made a total of 12 appearances for the Reds, scoring three goals - including a match-winning brace against West Brom in the League Cup.

Everybody at LFC would like to wish Nuri all the best for the future.

What a shame, real real shame.

Far from his best he was still more productive than most of our first teamers, and would only get better if given a proper run in the team.

Hopefully that means we're bringing someone to replace him then. If not it's just ridiculous to let a player of his quality leave.

Got to be honest and say I was disappointed with Sahin. I had great expectations but for me he didn't produce. He is a lot slower than I anticipated and didn't seem to fit into the premier league. I'm certain he has some quality, just didn't quite cut it at this moment in time. Wish him all the best.
