When he is back to full match fitness and game sharpness he is, to me a nailed on certainty to start every game.
I only hope that Rodgers plays 2 up front and pairs him with Benteke.
      A 4-4 (diamond) - 2 is what we need.
We have to play to our strengths and that's goals.
Still expect a defensive shambles in every game but we have to be more potent up front and put the opposition on the back foot.

Still think he isnt anywhere near his best yet. He could be anything he wants to be this lad if he can only stay fit.

Even having him on the bench ready to come on will be an additional thing for United to think about.....

Wonder who will be his best option as a partner if we are to play 2 up top.

Great that he's training again but I'm a it worried we're going to rush him back into the site too quickly again.

Isn't that why we bought Benteke, Ings and Origi for?

Even if he's fit I wouldn't have him near the mancs game.

Same here just give him time and with being out for so long he could easily pick up anothe niggle, I would like to see him come off the bench for at least 6 games.

For me Danny is a 20 goal a season player at almost any Premier League club.

Think you over estimate the quality of the teams at the bottom of the table mate, either that or Studge's ability to create for himself. Some of them score less than 30 for the entire year. I understand you said almost, but still I believe Studge relies more on his team-mates than say Suarez did.

Without Gerrard/Suarez/Sterling creating we really do rely heavily on Coutinho for that spark, if he isn't firing then the team is left with the option of hoof it right now. Studge isn't suited to those tactics. Benteke could prove a good foil for him and they may well spark up a good partnership but I just feel a Studge/Suarez type partnership is something we should have gone for and that's nothing against Big Ben as I think he's been one of the very few positives we've had so far this season.

      Thank F**k for that.
Let's hope the surgery and treatment in the US sorts Daniel's injury record out, the lad himself thinks he's turned a corner if recent quotes are anything to go by.

did not think he played as much as 18 games last season.

He will be back on the bench next week I reckon, ease him back in, 20mins, 30mins, etc.

With the Europa League and League Cup getting underway in the next couple of weeks there will be plenty of opportunities to ease him back in. Can see him featuring in an U21 game or two as well.

Just hope we do it properly because I still think we're going to need him fit and firing to stand a chance of getting into the top four, even after our summer recruitment.

Players always think they've turned a corner when they come back from injury. As proven with Daniel before though, it's not always true. Let's hope it's all behind him this time though.

Well the treatment he received in the US was apparently revolutionary carried out by a sh*t hot surgeon at the top of his game, improved physio procedures are also said to have been used.

Might just save Rodgers arse if he comes back and stays fit and bangs the goals in.

True. If Danny and Big-Ben can form a good understanding with one another, then I could see them becoming a devastating strike pair!! Same could be said of Firmino and Coutinho as their creative supply line.

This lad, when fit, outscored Rush, Fowler, Torres, Suarez - the lot of them.
      Says it all

His goals to games ratio is up there with the very best.

He will end up being played as a wide forward in a 433 so dogmatic is Rodgers belief in his turgid formations.

If he does and don't think he'll be happy. If I'm not mistaken it was one of the reasons he left City and Chelsea. I don't think it was just he wasn't getting games.

I can already feel it: We're going to be really up sh*t's creek, rush Sturridge back before he's fully healed, and risk the chance of another big layoff.

Does seem too predictable that doesn't it, probably fits with our season. Injured in the warm up really would just send most of us over the edge.

When he is back starting I hope Rodgers plays him with Benteke up top. Wasted out on the wing. I think there is a lot of pressure on Sturridge to start getting us the goals we badly need
