Utter madness to even think of loaning him out with no replacement coming in.

Pray to God Firmino stays fit otherwise it's Ings and Solanke  :o

I'd agree with you but for the fact that Studge now seems 4th in the pecking order behind Bob/Ings/Solanke - in Jurgens mind.
We're out of the FA Cup now too, so fewer games left.
If Bob does get injured, looks like it'll be Ings/Solanke that come in, not Danny.
Chances of all 3 of them being injured are pretty low, so under those circumstances, don't think letting him go will impact us much, if at all.

Danny is streets ahead of Ings and Solanke in terms of scoring ability.

Not sure Inga will ever make it here and Solanke a talent yes but he has not even scored a PL goal yet and we are relying on them in the CL and the fight for Top 4.

That's just reckless beyond belief by the club.

I agree with you in that I think Danny on his day is a much better finisher.
And would be pissed if he went to Newcastle and started scoring.
And not sure I see the other two here long term.

But imho Klopp seems to have had it with Studge.
Recent opportunities he gave Danny he didn't take his chances - and hadn't looked close to his old self. Even when looking more like his old self last season, when I'd deffo have played him more, Jürgen wasn't playing him.

Under those circumstances ... that he's hardly played, and is very unlikely to ... don't see much impact to us of letting him go.

True. Since day one to be precise.

Not true. I know it fits the whole story but its not true at all is it?

He's hardly had any game time, and no single stretch of games to gain any sort of match fitness or sync with the players.
In recent games, he was given 10 minutes against the bus parkers Man Utd. 20 minutes against Maribor (and provided an assist), and then 15 minutes against Spurs (in that shocking defeat... we weren't going to score again in that match were we??).

Week after that, he STARTS a match (yay!) against Huddersfield and scored. Then he got 15 minutes against Maribor and scored. Started against Chelsea but got ony 66 minutes. Did not score or assist. 1-1 result.

20 minutes against Spartak and got an assist.

Then.... no more. Injury or whatever the true story is.

So, in 'recent' games, 2 goals and 2 assists, hardly any game time. Didn't take his chance? Really? A better question would be: Was he given a chance? - NO.

Sorry Dan - he’s been given several chances and never demonstrated he understands what the role of the striker is in this set-up.

You rate him I know and I understand why - I’ve been a massive advocate myself in the past. In the last 2 years though - when fit to play he’s looked lacking in physical confidence or frankly self-centred. He doesn’t currently look like a self-sacrificing team member at all.

Time to face reality though and let’s not be naive there’s plenty of examples of quality players who can work in one system / for one manager but not another.

He was a quality player and MAY be again but I’ve seen zero evidence of his qualities to play in our set-up.

Look, maybe I'm being a bit harsh on Danny. I like him, am a fan. On his day (always have to add that small print) he is top striker. No doubt.
But unfortunately there's not as many of those days any more, he's looked sluggish and too easily dispossessed in recent games I've seen him.
Could argue that how the hell is he supposed to get sharp if he's not getting a decent run of games - and that's absolutely fair. I'd argued a while back he should get a longer run of matches.
Problem is, unless Bob gets injured there's no chance of that happening. And even if it did happen, Jürgen doesn't fancy him.

So much as I think he's great on his day, for those reasons, don't think we'd miss him if he left.

      True.

He's at the Baggies now ...... he can give Pardew problems.
Wonder if Sturridge will play for him with a face like a slapped arse.

Will be interesting to compare his attitude and motivation there.

Showed his loss in pace and how he apparently can't score with the keeper on the edge of the penalty box...even with 2 attempts.

He didn't make me think, sh*t, we've made a mistake here.

      Played well too.

Was always open and ready for the ball. Excellent touches. Was clearly fired up.

Yes he didn't score his chance but had a lot to do with a slow ball into his feet and 2 defenders coming at him. Not a 1v1. 1st effort blocked but got the rebound and almost scored from a difficult angle.

Starting for West Brom tonight against Chavs.
Might not be playing for us, but could do us a favour :)
Although, if he scores, the 'i told you so' boys will be out.
Still, can only wish him the best - would love to see Danny get on the score-sheet against his old team tonight...
