Reports that he will out till April. We all could have predicted the outcome of his initial minor strain. :-\

I doubt he gdts any meaningful game time with WBA.

West Brom could be relegated by the time he gets fit. I wonder whether we'd even be able to find a buyer for him at this rate!

Surely the club can get shut by declaring Sturridge unable to meet the terms of his contract by way of an inherant medical condition.
There is no existing profession that does not retire people who cannot acquit themselves satisfactorily because of a medical condition.

I think it time Daniel looked at moving into coaching or being a pundit. I like the lad, so disappointed for him that his career has went this way.

Maybe he could try the MLS...might suit him and his lifestyle.

They love the bling and the bong in LA.
Hes got a couple of Rollers that would go down well on Sunset Boulevard.

He would have got more sympathy if he hadn't paraded his lifestyle as conspicuous consumption.

Only 28, crazy to think injury has robbed him of his prime/peak years and stopped him from ever reaching his full potential. Could have been up there with the likes of Aguero, Lewandowski, Kane etc.

The decision to move 'closer to home' and play for a farcical manager at a farcical team like West Brom is bizarre. How honest are his intentions to get to the World Cup if that's the case?

Oh his day (when healthy) I think he was better than Kane is now.

13/14 player for sure, and possibly just as good as Aguero back then too. Such a shame we won't see him in his peak ever :(

I personally think Danny will be with us until his contract runs out. After this latest injury on loan at West Brom you would have to be brain dead to pay a transfer fee for him now, especially the amounts that we are asking for him. I'd imagine another loan to someone perhaps next season. The old Danny Sturridge is gone and I suspect we won't see that again from him.

to be fair on Sturridge, when he played he's been decent. I think if he retired now he'd have our respect, but lingering on for a free 3.5 million in wages is just leeching from us now. There really should be clauses in contracts where extended time off results in regular sick pay like anyone else. Lucky we are not paying his wages whilst he's at west brom, but we'll be lucky to find a team stupid enough to pay his wages while we transfer him to their injury bench.

Unbelievable that West Brom signed him on loan, what an utter joke of a club that has become.

Don't know why everybody is worried about his wages...everytime he goes on the trainers table the club gets insurance payments...not like were losing money.

Surely not!   Insurance companies take money they don't pay in my experiences.

They have disability insurance for every players in that squad down to U18's.

There might be a 1-week exclusion period but long term injuries are covered...all teams have it.

Long and short term disability insurance sounds far-fetched to you?...really?

      https://www.asn.ch/en/for-individuals/international-insurances/sports-disability-and-occupational-disability-insurance/

You need to get out more as there is no way that any club does not have disability insurance on all of they're members...probably umbrella policies and even more probable group coverage that cover the PL as a blanket group.

Your not dealing with Sunday league, your dealing with professional business people.

Nothing far-fetched except your apparent lack of knowledge to how the world works.
