      Jack Dunn Player Thread
      Jan 09, 2013 10:20:05 am
I like Jack, he's a very determined player and always gives his all on the pitch.  He's suffered with injury this season but did really well in the FA Youth Cup game against Swindon.

A midfielder who can score too.

      D.O.B.    19 Nov 1994

Jack Dunn is an all-round midfielder who excelled as captain of the U16s last season.

The scouser has earned rave reviews for his repertoire of passing and has featured for England at youth level.

He was one of seven Liverpool Academy players who travelled to the U17 World Cup in the summer.

Dunn captained the U18s throughout the 2011-12 season but struggled a little with fitness and injuries.

The striker has featured for England U17s and U18s and will be looking to fire the Reds to glory this season.

Looks a real prospect this kid.

Has shone for the reserves this year, top scorer I think and took his goal against Shamrock the other day brilliantly. Was pure instinct. Didn't look where the goal was, just struck it first time past the keeper.

He'll be 20 in November this year, hopefully will get a few chances in the first team before then.

Has looked handy since switching from midfield to a striker.

Although, the gulf in talent between U21 and professional level is just massive. We've seen from previous striker prospects that it is in fact not the level our young lads should be playing at.

Doubt he'll get much game time with Borini taking most of the striking roles for the 'lesser' games.

A loan would do that lad wonders to test himself.

He looks good when he gets the service as a striker. It's when he doesn't get the right service that I worry about his future development. There's been a few games this season where he's played as the number 9 but has barely seen enough of the ball around the box. I remember one game where he played on the right hand side of a front 3 too and he was unplayable.

Scored an 18th minute penalty for Cheltenham tonight in their 1-1 draw with Morecambe.   Jones and Stewart also started.

Any idea what position he is being played in? I remember him being an attacking midfielder (centre and wide) in the youth set up before gradually moving into the number 9 position, I prefer him in midfield.

Edit: Just noticed that he's only 2 goals shy of being their leading scorer in the league :D that's awful!

Not sure tbh mate but I'd imagine AM.  Not bad for a 20 year old loanee though, 2 goals in 3 games and taking penalties for them.  Could be the making of him if he can stay injury free.

Scored again yesterday from the penalty spot.

      Already their joint-leading League goalscorer.

Recalled from his loan spell due to injury, although it was due to end this week anyway.

He's done well whilst there, let's hope we can find him another short term loan when he's fit again.

Scored against them yesterday didn't he mate?

Great stuff for him, it's a level he should do well at to get himself a permanent move somewhere.

Just coming in to post that mate.

Came off the bench and put them 2-1 up, then won and scored a penalty in the 92nd minute to take it to extra time, then got the winner.

If he can stay fit they'll love him this season and hopefully he'll get a better permanent move out of it.

He's just equalised for Morecambe on the stroke of half time. 4 goals in 1.5 games.
