      Ince or Coutinho?
      Jan 23, 2013 12:01:08 am
Seeing as these appear to be the only likely targets this window, who would you prefer to sign and why?

I think Ince, purely because he'll be slight cheaper I'd imagine and I also feel he'd settle quicker and be able to make more of an impact this season; which really is the purpose of a January signing isn't it?

Why would you be bothered? If the price difference is "slight", why not go for the better player?

I'm not saying one is better than the other but a slight price difference shouldn't come in to consideration.

Coutinho sounds more exotic than Ince, plus we have already had an Ince but never a Coutinho so I'll go for young Coutinho.

It's a bit baffling to hear football fans saying they'd go for another player as he'd be cheaper or better value.

We don't pay for these players so I just judge it on who I feel is best.

I think it'll be both or neither.

If I had to choose I'd go for Coutinho purely because I just feel Ince (his Dad) could cause problems making demands about starting every game.

Think this is one thing that us fans always cry out for and yet when it comes down to it, we never live up to it. To me, it is far better spending an extra £2-3m if a player is of better quality than another. Whether or not Coutinho really is that much better than Ince, I don't know.

It is something that doesn't really bother me. Paul may have had an influence on Thomas leaving us originally. If I am honest, that was probably the best thing for him. He got regular football and has made a name for himself, something which may not have happened at Anfield. That said, I don't see Paul being able to have that same level of say on Thomas' career now. Thomas is at an age where he is working independently and not under instruction of how Dad. At least...you would hope that was the case.

Coutinho without a doubt. In Malta, many follow Seria A and inter fans say he is brilliant but need to be polished more and we need to take care about his injuries.

There shouldn't need to be a choice. Get both in if the manager feels he needs them.

Still think we need more experience in the side though but it appears that isn't an option anymore.

      We don't need both.
I think Sterling deserves to maintain a place in the squad.
If we were to sign both Ince & Coutinho it would relegate Sterling.

On that basis I'd only have one and it would be Coutinho.
I do think this could be the right club for him and it would have the
added bonus of not having to deal with Ince Sr.

Price wasn't specifically my justification for my choice, it was merely just an added bonus. My main reason was the fact Ince is used to England and English football, he no doubt knows the likes of sterling, wisdom and suso well from his youth team days and would therefore settle far quicker. This would increase his chances of putting in good performances sooner. This is the most important aspect of a January signing for me, as they don't have the per-season to settle and blend with the squad that a summer signing may...

To be honest at the rate how our  so called transfer targets are being "solved'  I doubt we will sign any of the 2
I hope I am wrong and at least one of the two will be a red
If BR wants Ince then go for it (if the player is willing to join), if Rodgers prefers coutinho than the club should do all they can to get him

Yes, he's coming across as a bit of a cock isn't he.

I would no more guarantee first team football for a player than I would put my balls in a vice and tighten it.

A player earns his place, he doesn't get given it as part of his contract.

I've only seen clips of Coutinho on you-tube, and isn't that the place were players are meant to look class? He looked average to me, frustrating and lacking any end product.
