Think you are getting confused here, the Brazilian doctor himself said he had an abductor injury before they played japan, a gMe in which he didn't play. Nothing sinister this time, no guarantee he will.play any great length of time.

Sorry mate, I'm not meaning to be an arse here, but this really is a pet peeve of mine.
I know it's unreasonable, but it's one of those "grinds my gears" things.
Everyone has one (at least) and this is mine.
So apologies once again, but the word is "adductor"; he hasn't got a kidnapped muscle ;)

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adductor_muscles_of_the_hip

I read a lot about this when Gerrard had an adductor injury, and then an infection, which resulted in him having infected tissue (muscle) cut away, which in turn hampered him considerably in the last few years of his career.

It's true to an extent, but for me, he's not "one of ours" anymore.

I'll support him while he's here, but I don't feel he's one of us now.

      Here's Klopp;

      Quote
Jürgen Klopp has confirmed Philippe Coutinho is a doubt for Saturday’s Premier League encounter with Huddersfield Town due to injury.

The Liverpool No.10 is set to be assessed ahead of the meeting with David Wagner’s side on Saturday because of an adductor issue sustained in training at Melwood this week.

Klopp told his pre-match press conference: “It’s not clear in the moment.

“Last week he had some back problems before the Tottenham game, but then during the week it settled with treatment and all that stuff, so he was fit for the game.

“This week he had a little bit of problem with the adductor. It’s not clear so far if he is out for tomorrow. We will make the decision today after training.

“He didn’t train yesterday, that’s true, but that’s all for the moment. There are no other new things [injury problems].”

      http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/279515-Jürgen-klopp-confirms-philippe-coutinho-injury

Again, I know this is weird, but it's just a pet peeve

I'm not having a go or being an arse about it.

Call it soft OCD about it if you want

Yes mate, but "abductor" is a description of muscle action, and the part of the muscle that enables that action.
Adductor is also a description of a group of muscle, and the muscle action.

It's an easy mistake to make, and to be honest, I'm a bit sheepish about being this pedantic, but there is a reason for it.

Think of it this way; "abductor" is the outward action and movement of the leg.

"Adductor" is the inward action and movement of the leg.

Now think about playing football, and how many times you threw/pushed your leg outwards when making a pass or hitting a shot.

Then think about how often your leg goes inwards (however slightly) when making a pass a hitting or shot, especially when you hit it with power.

Footballers tend to get adductor injuries because of the nature of the game, and technique required.

I have no idea who who tends to get abductor injuries.
      Dancers maybe?   :f_tongueincheek:

Philippe Coutinho 'asks Liverpool not to sell him to Paris Saint-Germain as Barcelona prepare £106m January bid'

      http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5069579/Philippe-Coutinho-asks-Liverpool-not-sell-PSG.html

Funny things is how the transfers work is a team can agree a price with another team, but the player can still refuse to sign for that team therefor the transfer does not go through

In another report Neymar, who wanted Coutinho at PSG is now reported to be unhappy at the club and wants to switch to Real...;D

Joined in with his shithouse mate running the length of the OT pitch to taunt Liverpool fans at the end of the 99 FA Cup tie.

      He's still a c**t, make no mistake.
