He'll need to pass a medical first, I wonder if his back is any better, but may be not sitting on that Barca bench for months.

If it does, we need to get Agger back for a game or two.

A few more seasons here he would be ready for the Barca challenge now.

He was 1 rung below world class in my opinion purely based on never putting it together for 1 totally brilliant full season.

He's struggling and my guess is his confidence is low and he doesn't have the respect of his team mates that say Suarez could command based on reputation.

      PSG next perhaps?

Think he moved a season or two too early.
Not that it matters now, damage is done,
but all the tactical talk in his last season at LFC was dropping him into the midfield 3.
A year or two of that and he'd have been perfect for Barca but instead Barca had to jump early
and Coutinho didn't have that extra season working behind the front 3.

Don’t think any time would have been right for him to be honest, Coutinho seems to be the type of player that needs a team built around him that compliments his game, at Barca, until Messi retires it will always be built around him and how it compliments Messi and unfortunately for Coutinho he’s come unstuck. To play for Barca you need to be able to adapt your game to suit a style of play that will get the best out of Messi and Coutinho isn’t able to do that. It’s surprising to see a player that had such high demands from his previous manager look so lazy and show a lack of interest. You look at Ings and you can tell he was a Klopp player, his work rate is second to none at Saints. Coutinho ever since he went to Barca has had the look about him that almost says he’s made it, he’s now at the top and it’s easy, he doesn’t have to put he effort in.

Coutinho was never going to replace Neymar or Iniesta in centre forward or center midfield roles. Barcelona wanted that and it's backfired. Coutinho is only good as a winger or a number 10. We don't use a number 10 or wingers, so we don't want him here really. He'd be best deployed behind two strikers. I'm sure there is a team willing to set up like that for him, but that is not us or Barcelona.

They'll only get around 90 million for him if he goes to United in the summer. A 55 million loss for them.

Edit: if Coutinho only plays 11 more games for Barcelona, Liverpool lose 8.4 million of the Coutinho fee. He's on 63 apps and the fee included app based appearance add ons.

We'd only get 137m for Coutinho, that would mean Barcelona lose lose less if they sell this summer.

He won’t go to the Mancs. If he goes anywhere it will be PSG.

Still can't stop smiling that we got VVD and Alisson for the Coutinho money. Brilliant!

Well, he couldn't wait to get to Barca and in that time we've made 2 CL final, Barca 0 and we sent them packing. It's okay though, he's won La Liga...

Quite ironic really, he was so desperate to leave that it gave us best part of £150mill and now that £150mill has gone on players that have now knocked him out of Europe.

I can't remember him touching the ball last night! Confidence is well and truly shot to pieces. I don't actually bare him any ill will because he was a cracking player for us for a number of years. I think he might be one of the heads to roll after this. Would anyone take him back at a reduced fee I wonder?

Klopp said he’d regret going to Barca and he was definitely right there. Wonder if he still thinks the transfer requests, the faking of injuries multiple times, paying some of his own money to move, having the day he left documented in the papers and general shithousery was worth it.

Can see him ending up at PSG in the summer.

Bet he’s hurting now, like Michael Owen, he’s probably full of regret about leaving. Some players just never recover from such a disastrous career decision and I can see Coutinho being one of them. The Chinese league beckons within a few years.
