problems for Barca with Griezeman,  Athletico saying they are short as the transfer was activated before July 1st and they want a lot more money. Its pretty much a kick in the bollox for Couthino though which ever way you look at it

Why would have Atletico reduce the buyout fee? don't get that part.

As for Cuntinho, Barcelona now have him, Messi, Suarez, Dembele and Griezman for the top spots, so likely 1 will be on the way out and i think we all know who that is likely to be. Good luck, Phil  :lmao:

      Oh that's not good.

I suppose they will spin it as Griezemann "bought" it from Coutinho or something.

Doesn't seem like Coutinho is much longer for Barca.

There’s no way Coutinho would have handed it over, being their record signing 18months ago and then specifically changing to that number last summer. I know you could argue it’s only a number but its just another lack of class from Barca. Compare that with us last year; even though it was obvious Karius was leaving, Alisson took the 13 instead of 1. Fabinho’s number of choice is 2 an although Clyne appears to have no part to play for us for the last year or so, Fab still got given the 3 instead.

Will be interesting to see what happens if they can’t pull off the Neymar move with Coutinho going to PSG.
He can’t even have his old number back because Malcom took that

Apparently it dropped from the 1st of July but they are saying the Player agreed to go to Barca before then so watch this space it could get nasty if Athletico refuse to release him

They can’t refuse to release him, a legally binding release clause has been activated, there is nothing they can do.
Regarding the extra money they want, we all know they are entitled to it and should get it because it’s clear as day Barca agreed the move with Griezemann early but again there is nothing Atletico can do because unless something was signed, it’s one teams word against the other.
Just more shithousery from Barca. A club I used to like watching has fast become a club I detest.

Atlético only have themselves to blame, they shouldn’t have had the contract with a drop in release clause. Wasn’t the existing contract he had a release of 150mill? So they shot themselves in the foot there, just to make him stay for one more year.

I'm probably one of the few supporters that wouldn't mind Coutinho back.

If Klopp decides to bring him back that is.

Still think he is a quality player.

      No thanks

He disrespected the club , the players , the manager and the fans

He refused to play for us and we moved on to become a better team

Will be excellent cover for Mane and can also link up with firmino. would add to the squad.

all would be forgiven if he can turn our draws into wins.

Hes a quality player and would make us even better than we are. Would slot straight into the team even from the bench . Lot of making up to do though by the way he left us which was not good at all . Big statement needed from him if it happens

Klopp changed the team to play without him somehow without this genius we lost one league game and won the European Cup and he is going to walk back into the team and we will win all 38 league games the CL,the FA CUP, and the League Cup all before Christmas.
The balance of the team is near perfect now and for what he will cost we can do so much better in cover for the left back and the Goal keeper should Mignolet leave.

So technically that would cost us what £30 million after we've deducted the money they owe us. They needed financing from American banks to seal the deal with Griezmann. They're F***ing skint!

If Klopp wanted him back I'd take him back. It didn't work out for him at Barca, but he's still a good player and let's be honest Bobby, Ali & Fab would welcome him back with open arms.

      Ha my arse.

We have progressed as a club since selling him.

Taking him back would be a step backwards.

Here's a controversial take on Phil.

He was never actually that good for us.

I can remember week in and week out screaming 'PASS THE F***ing BALL' at him and calling for him to be dropped because we played better without him. Actually the only time he got on a consistent run for us was the season we sold him in January and we've been flying since.

Take him back on a loan if Barca agree to pay his wages. Wilson could get injured so we'll need someone else to warm the bench for the front 3.

Would Coutinho returning improve the squad? Yes

Take your pride away lads. We should jump at this if possible. He can play as part of the 3 in midfield or off the left if Mane was out.

A top top player that would give us a way better chance of finishing ahead of City.

      Not controversial to me mate.
I cringe every time someone says he's "world class" because apart from anything else, he's simply not consistent enough to deserve that mantle.
A good player, yes, but world class? No.
It's a phrase that is bandied around so much that it has lost meaning.

Apparently all I can remember is him repeatedly cutting in and scoring with his right foot from range. Given some were crucial goals. And apart from him squatting behind a wall. Other than that I cannot remember much.

Great player and world class eh...

The more I thought about his move to Barca, the more I associate him to Michael Owen. Michael only thinks about himself and his England spot. Coutinho only thinks about himself and his dream move to Barca.

I'd only take him back for £0.
