Thatā€™s a difficult one how to progress from being European champions  world champions , super cup winners , prem league champions , and could add the fa and euro cup again ,
Think the only way you progress from that is do it again , atm thereā€™s not that many players who could come into this outfit and make it better as you say most are in or reaching their prime , except Trent who has a lot to learn 😉😉

The only area where we could be a bit better is midfield, not that we have any serious issues in that department, but I do miss a Stevie G type, a really dynamic box to box midfielder who can take games by the scruff of the neck, a modern example would be De Bruyne.

I just think this seemingly English obsession with buying every transfer window is a bit mad.

No doubt we'll hear it all again in the summer about how we have to buy a "marquee signing" and all the rest of that guff.

There's nothing wrong with this squad, and the only players I can see coming in are to replace those who leave.

Nothing to do with people having a grudge.
The team improved because of the money brought in by Coutinho. (Virgil & Alisson)

      This team's identity is "Intensity".
That's not part of Coutinho's game.

We're a much better balanced team without him imo

When he played, I always felt we were a bit too open.

In terms of pressing & intensity there is nobody in that team that Coutinho replaces.
As a talent, yes, he's special.
Is he what Liverpool need? No.
I'd rather go all in on Sancho.

I bear him no malice, he left because he wanted to play for a team he had dreamed about since he was a boy, he made a huge mistake, that doesnā€™t mean he, nor we, should go back! I truly hope he finds a team that will offer him the opportunity to prove his worth, that team, sadly is not us.
I am sure he has regrets, we do not, we most certainly got the best of the deal. I wish him well in the future.

Part of a longer article with Sports Illustrated - asked about LFC.

ā€œLiverpool is flying, and it doesnā€™t surprise me. Weā€™ve seen it already last year when it won the Champions League, but Iā€™m also not surprised because of their fantastic squad and manager,ā€ he said.

ā€œI am so happy for them, because I have so many friends there, former teammatesā€“so Iā€™m just so happy for themā€“but thatā€™s all.

I donā€™t look back. I took another path, and now I am on another journey, much like everyone else. Iā€™m focused entirelyā€“just like themā€“on reaching my dreams. Iā€™m happy with what I did in the past, and now I can only look forward.ā€

I'm in the minority I know but I would have him back, that said I'll be completely amazed if we did sign him.
The only feasible way I could ever see him turning out for us again would be on loan with us paying half of his wages. No way should we pay over the odds they may command Ā£60m off Chelsea or Man Utd but not us and his wages are the big stumbling block we won't match them nor should we.
I can see him ending up back at Inter or maybe PSG

Didnā€™t wish him any ill when he left us & I donā€™t wish him any ill now,the money we got for him payed for two massive  players that have improved our team immeasurably.
The lad got his dream move and the club & us fans got our dream......heading towards winning number 19.

OK, it seems you still old a grudge against him. I understand, but I can hardly name better midfielders than Coutinho when he left us, this right foot is magic.

Why would we have a grudge, when selling Coutinho brought us VVD and Alisson?

That right foot wasn't that magic at Anfield last May was it?

Well, Lallana's treatment table & Physio will be freed up, so he may fit in.

Especially with that bad back that conveniently caused him so many problems during the summer transfer window and as the winter one was going to start.

It's not the fact he left us, it's how he did it.

He shat on the club, the fans, the manager.

      F**k him.

If we need another player, we can get much better for what he would cost us.

Read there he's lost the no.7 shirt at Barca to Griezmann, still not turned the corner yet there even though looks like he'll get a chance this season

Wouldn't surprise me if he's another who exits the place.
