You’d expect so in that type of league. Even Hendo could score a hatrick 😂

I wasn't talking about that league.

      5-0, 4-0, 7-0

Is Phil's transfer to Barcelona the biggest flop in history?  I can't think of any other player who transferred for such a large sum and their career fell off a cliff.  Hazard to Madrid maybe comes in 2nd?

      Hazard is easily first.
      Then Felix to Atleti.
      Then Lukaku to Chelsea
      Then Coutinho

Antony and Mudryk could well turn out just as bad although they didn't have much of a career before.

Pogba going back to United should be in there too.
Let him leave the academy and then spent a record fee at the time for him to return.

I would add Griezmann to Barca in addition to the others you have listed

Thought he did ok there, bit like Grealish at City. Far from success but neither a huge flop either.

Hazard -- You can kind of blame injuries.  Very unfortunate in his time at Madrid.

Lukaku -- He was half the price of Phil and still may command a decent fee this summer.

Griezman -- Still a good player (as shown at Atletco), but just horrible management and use of him at Barca. They also got about 33% back of what they paid for him.  Phil only fetched like 12% of his original cost when he was sold.

Coutinho just seems the worst to me.  His cost was astronomical, and he was only sold at a fraction.  His transfer is also one of the leading reasons for Barca's recent financial problems, although Griezman falls into this category as well.

In the end, it comes down to opinions.  Part of me is sad for how the wheels fell off for the lad -- he was my favorite player for many years!!  On thr other hand, it does make for a nice cautionary tale for the other lads thinking the grass might be greener elsewhere.....

Toss up between Hazard and Coutinho for me. Both at the peak of their powers and dropped off a cliff once they moved. I would say Hazard edges it as he played fewer games at Madrid and has since ended up retiring.

Others I would mention, Dembele to Barcelona. Half of the Chelsea squad.

Agree but it's probably a bit early to make a definite opinion on the Chelsea squad. A lot are young players with time to develop. Some could still be ok, a few will probably turn out to be very bad value for money.

That Nkunku looks F***ing sh*t and then you miss more chances than Nunez Jackson, but we won't talk about that.

45M + a prime Eto'o for Ibrahimovic should definitely be up there with the worst transfers of all time.
