It's really not an understatement to say that could quite easily have been double figures.

Coutinho looks a good signing and scoring on his debut won't harm his confidence . If he grew a moustache and left the hair grow he'd look like Terry Mac

Looking forward to watching this later, I hope.
Thursday is looking a whole lot better than it was a couple of hours ago. That performance should give all the players a confidence boost.
      Well done Redmen!

It seems a great pity that Sturridge is not eligble, for Thursday, seems to make a great difference up front. Well done to Stevie for letting him take the penalty with the game in the bag. Seems as if Swansea did not show up, but well done to the lads for taking full advantage.

If Rodgers can string a few wins like that together and get us playing the same way each time the future would look a lot rosier.

Every website is saying we had mid-50's possession and only 100 more passes than Swansea.

      I call bullshit.

Well that was F***ing fantastic wasn't it! It was so nice to see us score 5 goals and it was even nicer to see it be 5 different scorers. Love spreading the wealth around like that. Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge as an attacking three were absolutely brilliant.

I, however, am going to be cautious about this result. That was a weakened Swansea side we played against. I know you can only beat what's in front of you, but it's not as if we beat their best XI. Cautiously optimistic right now.

The one thing I am happy about was being clinical in the second half. We haven't been clinical the past few games, but we were in that second half with 4 goals. Fantastic to see. Need to be even more so on Thursday.

      Me too.

The stream I was watching, not sure who was behind the stats, showed us over 60% possession any time it was on screen.

      Great result and performance.

Don't wana sound like I'm putting a downer on things but I'm struggling to feel excited after that game cos all I could think throughout it was about the last home game against West Brom - which is still, for me, one of the most depressing games I've ever seen. Therefore it will take a long time and a lot of performances and results like today for me to get over it.

You have to start somewhere, though, and today was as good as it gets.

I was calling BS on that too. Felt like at least 70% and 650+ passes.

      Ah well.

Right now I dont give a sh*t how many changes they made or how weak a team they put out.

We played them off the park and punished them for it which is all I would ask.

Good day to be a red.

To be fair, this is a game we should have won from the get go. Still, what a great performance. It was fun, and importantly it looked like the players were having fun.

Loved what Coutinho brought, loved that Suarez got a much needed goal, loved that both Gerrard and Sturridge took their pens, loved the combinations between Coutinho, Enrique, and Suarez. Same goes for Suarez and Sturridge as well as Sturridge and Henderson when he came on.

It just goes to show what a miss Sturridge is when he's not in the side. He gives everybody else that little bot of extra space to play in and his directness and selfishness stretches the opp every time he plays. Such a shame he is cup tied for Thursday.
