What a thread title, still laughing over it. Just the kind of performance we needed after the depressing few results and before a very important game for our season. Suarez came back into his own and the new guys Sturridge and Coutinho already seem to be fantastic signings.

Didn't get to watch the match . But a 5-0 win is a resounding one irregardless Swansea did not play their top guns. I bet Swansea thought they could get away with a draw or minimum defeat. That's what happens when you look down at LFC. We are 9 pts behind Spurs albeit they have a game in hand. Kenny says we need to win all 12 games to stand a chance of getting that CL spot. It's not impossible and we have one now in the bag. 11 more to go. Let get it done!

Well I enjoyed that win and the way we went about it.Man of the match for me was Suarez he was all over thwe pitch and has a work eyhic of Kuyt.I was impressed with Coutinho he seemed full of confidence and has got a good football brain,I am expecting good things from this lad .I also liked the way Stevie Gerrard let Sturridge take the second penalty,Sturridge had done a good job and deserved a goal. All we need to do now is to put a similar display on against Zenit and we will surely progress through to the next round.Well done REDS

He didnt Ben...it was the linesmen that flagged...webb was all ready to walk away....and the Kop soon let him know what a b***ard he was too  ;)
Fair play to the Kop on that one.

But the other thing is during the manU game he actually called it down the line.  And i said I would salute him for that in my previous post if I may not be mistaken.  So a big Gurkha Style salute to ya WEBBY.

I know a LadyBoy in London that may have the time time to grease up webbs baldy and blow sweet whispers to his ear on how he should be more nice to us cos we're the best cos we treated him the best but I screwed them up.  Seems like he's got all the times in the world. Last time i saw him was in score tonight few days back for a Samsung ad cooking in the kitchen looking like a right fit lady boy that may suit webby's liking.

Still shocked that Webb gave us not 1 but 2 penalties :o

Wasn't the 1st pen given by the linesman? and the second too, the flag went up very quick, Webb had no choice.

Funniest thing about the second penalty was arch bitter Barry Horne being "unconvinced" about it on SKY. Routledge knew full well it had hit his arm, you only had to look at his face. Not a single Swansea player questioned it.

As for Coutinho I agree with S@int. if he is worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Aimar then we've got a bargain.

Very happy with the win everyone performed well. Never mind we were up against an under strength Swansea and the lads did not take it easy. Glad that Coutinho played well, very direct with his game and linked up well with the rest. What's important is we attacked with purpose and we managed to get the ball out of the sidelines on numerous occassions. Very refreshing to see Coutinho attacked down the middle.

Glad to see that the trio of Suarez, Coutinho and Strurridge can attack in many different forms and it'll be difficult for defenders to read.

Everyone performed with great urgency and even Enriqued ran almost the full length of the pitch to toe poke the ball into goal. This is the kind of determination that every player should have. Sturridge was a real threat with his direct play and never shy to take a  shot at goal. Give him a few more games and he'll be sharper and a big big threat to defenders.

I've got a funny feeling we may still do well in the league and/or the Europa league since we don't have other cups distractions.

Great performance... i loved the tempo in our play, we played much quicker...which is what i have been crying out for this season.
Only downer is Borini getting injured, really feel sorry for him.

On to the next one! More of the same lads :)

What a F***ing result that was yesterday!. Went up for the game and have to say i was not disappointed one bit. The atmosphere was excellent, not a patch on our European nights but excellent all the same. The lads turned in an epic performance and it was all out attack from the off. Full credit to Brendan for starting Coutinho as i thought he was excellent. Used his brain really well and when Enrique overlapped he went inside and forward to give us more options.

Not a lot to report really as we basically smashed them to death with a high octane brutal display of football. It's funny how people have been slating Carragher over the last few months when it's quite clear that our defence isn't quite ready for life without him yet. His organisational skills are second to none, he was even bollocking Gerrard. An absolute legend.

It's no coincidence that when Sturridge plays we are a totally different animal. Defenders can sometimes cope when there's only Suarez to worry about, but when you throw Sturridge into the mix they haven't got a clue what to do.

Before his arrival we only had 2 game changers in the side, Suarez and Gerrard. I feel that now we have 3 with the addition of Sturridge. It's way to early yet but i feel that Sterling and Coutinho could also become game changers in time too.

Things are looking good, it's hard to accept the poor performances of late but it's to be expected to a certain extent when all the factors are taken into account.

We need experienced players in the Summer, we have plenty of youth now, we have plenty of potential, we now need players who have been there and done it.

If FSG refuse to sanction the purchase of essential experience in the Summer then they may as well sell up and go in my opinion.

Success isn't free and you can't buy success on the cheap either.

Great performance by the lads yesterday with some mouth watering play in the final third, if we begin to touch that style consistently we can build some confidence and put the fear back into anyone who comes to Anfield again, something we've lost over the last few years.

Next up: another European come back at Anfield please boys, a la Olympiakos. ;D

Was unable to see the whole match, and only got to see about 5 minutes of highlights.  That being said, I think it is pretty obvious that we are at our best when Suarez plays in behind a pacey striker who can occupy the CB's and create a pocket of space for him to operate in.  His ability to get on the ball and drive at defenders is incredible, and his passing and vision are superb!!  The Sturridge signing looks more shrewd with every game!!

I was glad to see Coutinho get a goal on his first start, and based on the comments it looks like he will be a very shrewd signing as well!!

Bitterly disappointed for Borini.  I feel the lad has been unfairly criticized at times this season.  Hopefully, he can come back to preseason in good fitness, and he should be nicely settled into Liverpool by that point.  I am hoping he comes out of the gates next season with a point to prove!!

As much as everyone likes to bag on Downing, I think he has actually been one of our best and most consistent performers over the last 2 months or so.  Obviously he hasn't had the same impact as Gerrard, Suarez, or even Sturridge, but he has been very good for us and is playing his role very well.  I really think his contributions have been under appreciated by many and he is deserving of his spot in the starting 11 right now.

Hopefully we can take some confidence from this game into the Zenit game and can turn that tie around.  If we progress in Europe after falling 2-0 behind in the away leg then it will do wonders for everyone's confidence, the fans included!!

Borini looks set to sue Billy Bluebottle for latest injury

Another game, another injury, the future's looking grim for a certain Fabio Borini. After being likened to Philip Degen for his frailty it is now in no doubt that he is even weaker than Degen himself.

But alas, there is light at the end of the tunnel for Borini as it seems it wasn't the landing or the collission with Kyle Bartley that caused the injury yesterday but somebody who shouldn't have been on the pitch at all.

(Billy Bluebottle - Suspect is the one at the rear, not the one getting it in the rear)

Step forward Billy Bluebottle, what has he got to do with this i hear you ask?. Well, Mr. Borini claims that Billy flew into his shoulder while he was going down, which caused the shoulder injury. Borini is now using www.claims4negligence.co.uk as he looks to claim compensation from Billy Bluebottle due to gross negligence.

Billy has claimed that he knew nothing of the accidental collision and was merely flying about looking for chicken sh*t to feed on. After speaking to Liverpool Football Club's Head Groundsman Terry Forsyth it was confirmed that the new bio fertilizers do contain 25-30% chicken sh*t and sometimes it doesn't always dilute purely and can leave chicken sh*t gravy granules on top of the grass if not watered.

Billy has apologised for the collision if it did indeed occur, but he states categorically that he felt nothing at all so he doesn't see how it could be his fault. Billy stated, " I was just flying around looking for some dried chicken sh*t and i saw a piece so i went for it, at no point did i feel any contact with anyone. I have put a bit of weight on recently, i'm up to 12 micrograms now so maybe my love handles cushioned the blow, i can't say for sure. I've been coming to Anfield for 8 days now and i like it here, i'll die in the next 16 to 17 days so i'd like to be allowed to feed here until then."

As Billy is not officially an employee of Liverpool Football Club there are a few grey areas to explore. Borini may have to take him to a Civil Court unless he can reach an out of court settlement with Billy before it goes to trial. Also, upon examining the live match footage there are clearly 2 flies in the vicinity when the collision occurs. There is also the life span of the fly to take into consideration, they live between 10 - 25 days on average.

(Harry Housefly - Suspect No. 2)

The other suspect found in the live match footage is Billy's best mate, Harry Housefly. He was unavailable for comment and is believed to have fled the city amid fears of retribution from local SWAT teams. His wife Tina Tsetse Fly had this to say. "He came home after the game yesterday and told me he was leaving. There was a half eaten pigeon turd on the pavement and he didn't even sniff it. He loves pigeon sh*t, so when he passed that up i knew there was something going on. He told me he had to get out of town. He didn't even say goodbye to the larvae, the selfish c**t."

Borini will be looking to settle this quickly but Billy said he'll take it all the way. "I'm dead in 17 days time so i'll go for an adjournment or claim insanity, he'll get f**k all out of me. I live for approximately 25 days, who the f**k is going to give me a job?, i doubt i'd even qualify for part time work either, he can f**king whistle for it. All i've got to my name is an old stainless steel toilet seat at the Recycling Centre in Bootle, he can have that when i'm gone and be f**king grateful for it."

An independent medical specialist said it could be a very serious injury to Fabio. "The average weight of a fly is 12 micrograms but it's the speed that the fly was travelling at that will determine whether this is going to be bruising, fracture or clean break. We have analysed Fabio's skeletal data and have calculated that if the speed of the fly was greater than 1 mph it will be severe bruising, 2 mph will be hairline fracture and over 2.5 mph will definitely result in a clean break. We know that Billy and Harry have a top speed of 4.5 mph so it all depends how eager they were to get at that chicken sh*t."

Dr Bollockski then went on to add this, "Collision data is so hard to prove in a court of law, we can't be exact or definitive, we can only calculate the probability. We will be using modern technology to calculate both the speed of Fabio and the fly when the collision occurred. We had a similar problem when Philip Degen broke his metatarsal bone in a collision with a corner flag at Melwood. We couldn't produce enough definitive proof so the CPS dropped the assault charge against the corner flag due to insufficient evidence. If i was Fabio i'd take the out of court settlement, stainless steel toilet seats are back in vogue."

Latest news in is that Harry and Billy have been taking part in brutal underground illegal tag team wrestling matches which will only fuel the latest rumours that this was a vicious tag team assault and premeditated. If you see Harry then the police have warned members of the public not to approach him, he could be extremely violent. Phone your local police station and they will dispatch a SWAT team to your house. It is still unclear whether Borini had any previous dealings with Harry and Billy, who have strong family links to the underground drug world.

I never seen the match live and only What motd highlighted, but what a fantastic display, it's true we are a different animal with Sturridge in the side, it's the balance that it gives us having a out and out front man and let's wee luis run riot, and having a number ten in Coutinho will give defences nightmares,
What a difference a few days make, most were slating Brendan and the players last Monday & Thursday some even suggested sackings, I bet some of those are eating their words right now,
But enough of this negative bullshit, roll on the Zenit game, I still believe we can get thru,
We will miss Daniel of course but if we can get a early goal then it's game on,
Once again what a brilliant display from all, probably our best showing this season thus far, from what I seen, just hope now we can take the confidence into the next few games and start us on a winning streak.

A much needed 3 points. Looked good going forward with some great link up play, but not getting carried away due to the strength and mind set of the oposition.  Still a good confidence boost ahead of thursday, so could prove to be a vital score line. Big changes for Thursday as well, but as long as we keep creating, Louis surely wont miss as many chances in one match again, will he ? Before seeing the teams, never really expected anything more than a draw against the swans, although I fancy us to win by more that a two goal margine on Thursday. Funny old game innit !                 :kop5cf8koxp6:
