Sweet lord! It's incredible what the internet can do these days. Such a great picture that I could zoom in on Big Ben a few miles away and see that it was taken at half one in the afternoon, and that's only !

That said such a shame to see London's great landmarks now dwarfed by the big skyscrapers, particularly St Paul's Cathedral which is a beautiful looking building in my opinion. Love to travel back in time to Victorian London I would! Still a great city though.

      Great picture!  :gt-happyup:

Considering its size and importance, I always think that the London skyline is a bit of a disappointment when compared to New York and other big international cities. At least in that picture, there are a couple of new skyscrapers being constructed.

Wow! A 320 gigapixel picture of a massive turd filled turd!

Having said that, it's a very impressive bit of technology. There's a brilliant one of Hong Kong and another of the 911 site on t'interweb as well.

      Looks amazing!

There's a similar one of the Himalayas (the area around the foot of Everest). Can't seem to find it now but that's brilliant as well.

Bit of an invasion of privacy with the immense quality of the tech there.

Also just highlights how sh*te the London skyline actually is. It used to be pretty cool but now the penchant for skyscrapers is ruining it. When you have crap like the Shard and Gherkin towering over genuinely nice buildings like St. Pauls, something has gone wrong. So I disagree with you HTH, I think those skyscrapers need to come down!

How did they get such a detailed picture in 1906?

Article explains it. He used a train of kites to hoist up his homemade camera to take the picture. Apparently he had a nice camera :P
