I have criticized Rodgers' substitutions in the past but he must be given a lot of credit for the turnaround in this game.
I'm not saying Allen has done wonders when he came on - though he was solid -, but from a tactical point of view, it made a lot of sense.
Our wide men were coming too deep to compensate for our midfield being too wide open. When Allen came on, that allowed our attacking players to put real pressure on them and that led to us gaining control of the match and our fluky equalizer.
I'm quite possibly one of Downing's biggest critics in here but he was great today.
If he plays like that more often, I'll be tattooing his name on my forearm.
Just improvement isn't enough... playing to that level on a consistent basis would be great.
