Just read on facebook that he's not gonna be playing football anymore. If that is the case than all the best to him in life.

      Yeah, it's true:

Fabrice Muamba retires from football after cardiac arrest

Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba has announced he has retired from all forms of professional football.

Muamba, 24, collapsed and suffered a cardiac arrest on 17 March during Bolton's FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur.

"While the news is devastating, I have much to be thankful for," said Muamba.

"I thank God that I am alive and I pay tribute once again to the members of the medical team who never gave up on me."

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19265338

Wonder if he thanked his God for making him have a cardiac arrest in the first place?  :f_tongueincheek:

All the best to him. It would have been great to see him playing again but how could anyone ever give their all on a football pitch again and push their body to it's limits after going through that?

At the time I remember some media outlets reporting a return to football would see him lose millions in insurance payouts.
Maybe financially as well as physically it wasn't worth it.

      All the best Fabrice.

I was watching that match live on TV when he collapsed. It was one of the most shocking and terrifying things I've ever seen. I'm over the moon he's still alive and has made a recovery.

It's the best for him to retire though. He simply should not be taking that kind of risk to play again. He's a very likeable fella. Media career perhaps?

Shame for him that he's had to retire, but at least he still has his health.

Yep, but I was shocked he was even contemplating playing again.

It was pleasing the way the TV cameras stayed off what the medics were doing at the time - certainly does hit you between the eyes though.

I'm glad he recovered and hope he stays healthy and gets to work in coaching in some capacity perhaps.  I'm sure I recall Owen Coyle saying there would be a role for him at Bolton should he need it.

All the best Fabrice in whatever you chose to do now.  Sad that you can no longer play football, but hopefully there is something out there for you.

      A real, real shame.

But look its a miracle he's alive, not being able to play footie pales in comparison to that.

Wish him the best in whatever he does

Disappointing to hear of his retirement but like others it's just a miracle and a relief for him to be in this position. It would have been wonderful to give him a rapturous welcome at Anfield and other grounds. But like I said, we're all just grateful enough to have him around with us.

Agree with everyone's sentiments here, he's a lucky lad really, he's young too, I'm sure he'll find something else. Good luck Fabrice YNWA x

Fan wanted to 'Run for Muamba'

The organisers of the Bupa Great Manchester Run are searching for a Liverpool supporter to join 19 other top-flight fans and raise awareness of Fabrice Muamba's Hearts and Goals campaign.

A year ago, the Bolton Wanderers midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during a match against Tottenham Hotspur, only surviving after receiving immediate on-pitch treatment and specialist care.

Along with the club, Muamba has since helped to support the Hearts and Goals campaign and will be the official starter of the Great Manchester Run - which will take place on Sunday, May 26, 2013.

Event organisers Nova are aiming to recruit one fan from each Barclays Premier League team to show their support by participating in the race wearing their club's jersey - and that's where you come in.

If you are interested in taking part, tweet @great_run including a picture of yourself in Liverpool colours and the hashtag #runformuamba.
