To be fair, Stevie has been playing in a deep role for the past few months - and been outstanding.

Me neither. Jones is so shaky.

He would be a decent back up keeper if he could catch the ball but it just seems like ge parries it or drops it all the time, further more he stops us playing out from the back.

Whether Rodgers has told him to, or he simply does it out of choice... He seems to hoof it upfield whenever he actually manages to catch it or gets a goal kick.

Really not confident about a mid field of Gerrard and Allen. Gerard will be much restricted with allen along side him. And why is Allen playing with that injury?

I had the understanding that Allen's injury was a degenerative thing.  So he's fine to continue playing the balance of the season but will require surgery when it's all over.  Am I mistaken?

Because Joe is one of BR's favourite players.

Is right. Brendan said before the Spurs game that Joe had been carrying the injury since October and said he'd need an operation this week or next week. Then he puts him on against Spurs!. Now he's starting him against Southampton?, this is f**king strange to say the least.

Some surprises in that lineup, the biggest one for me is Allen in for Lucas. I like Joe a lot mind you, but I don't really see the reason to move Lucas to the bench. Only thing I can think of is if Lucas is carry a slight knock or is feeling a bit fatigued at the moment.

How awesome is it that Jordon Ibe is on the bench?! That's got me very excited to see what he can do at this level if he makes an appearance.

To be fair, i think a Hendo and Gerrard midfield would be too open.

Allen gives me no confidence though and Shelvey has been piss recently.

not a easy game at all. They are gonna give their 100% every game until the end of the season so they dont get relegated.

I think with Southamptons high press we are going to need to be brave in posession and I think that's why the boss has gone for Allen. Lucas can have no com plaints IMHO as he has been some way below his best form since his return. This is a tricky game this, but I think we'll get home.
