      Tom Inces new valuation.
      Apr 05, 2013 10:49:40 am
I'd have put this in the Thomas Ince or Ince or Coutinho thread but they've both been locked so I'll bang it in here in the hope of a re-open and move to one of them two. ;)

So, Inces Daddy has come out and insisted that his li'l boys valuation should now be £25m. I'll pass.

Thomas Ince worth £25m - Blackpool boss & father Paul Ince
Blackpool winger Thomas Ince could be worth as much as £25m in the current market, according to his father Paul.
The 21-year-old was a January target for both Liverpool and Reading.
And Seasiders manager Ince said Manchester United's signing of Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha should be a benchmark for his son's valuation.
"If you're talking £15m for Zaha, Thomas has got to be £25m. If you compare the two, Thomas should cost more," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
Youngster Ince, who began his career at Liverpool and was strongly linked with a move back to Anfield earlier this season, collected the Young Player of the Year prize at the Football League awards last month.
Ince has scored 18 goals in the Championship in 2012-13. Only Glenn Murray, Charlie Austin, Jordan Rhodes and Matej Vydra have found the net on more occasions in the division this term.

Wide man Zaha has been one of the star performers in the second tier this season and was rewarded for his excellent form with a first full cap for England against Sweden in November.
Blackpool boss Ince, who has said he does not want to sell his star player, continued: "Zaha is a fantastic player, don't get me wrong. Zaha's a stronger runner and does a lot of tricks, whereas Thomas is more direct, he makes things happen and he scores goals.
"You've got a kid playing in the Championship who has scored 18 goals. When you look at the leading scorers, they're all strikers, and he's there amongst them.
"Potentially, I think he can reach that value. If Palace want £15m for Zaha who has scored six goals, it makes you wonder what price he's going to be.
"You're not going to get it because he's not proven in the Premier League, but if United are paying £15m for Zaha, on the stats you'd have to say Thomas is worth a lot more than that. That's my opinion."
Meanwhile, striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher is nearing a return to first-team action after recovering from a torn hamstring and on-loan forward Marko Futacs has gone back to parent club Leicester City. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22038525

Using his logic he has a point. Ince has done more than Zaha is worth 15m.

Wouldn't have him for 10 though.

Indeed crouchy and I gotta be worth a few hundred thousand but it's whether or not some daft f**ker will pay it that is the problem.

Nothing wrong with bigging up your son or one of your players so I won't be reading too much into it.

There goes my chance, if you're worth a few hundred grand cash converters wouldn't even touch me.

Even 9 million is too much considering he was a youth player here.
Still angers me seeing Paul Ince commenting on prices when he got his lad a move in the first place.

Couple of sources saying it will go down to the Tribunal and they will decide his market value. I have no idea what the third year option is? Tom's option or the teams?

I only know he signed a 2 year deal with an option for a 3rd.

10 years ago £25m and there abouts was what the truly world class players were going for, the likes of Ronaldo and Figo. Today it is being touted for a player who probably wont become much of a world beater at all.

To be fair I think what Paul is saying is United paid way too much a Championship player that hasn't had as good a season as his son. Just a little valuation joke, he knows he'll get a fraction of that. Doubt he'd want his son having a huge price tag hanging over his head anyway, that's a lot of pressure.

Just stinks of trouble where Paul Ince is concerned, I'd be put off by his involvement alone.

As for value, he's worth as much as someone is willing to pay for him, not what someone says he's worth, the same as any asset.

The thing is though that in my opinion is a player we need.

He has come on leaps and bounds at Blackpool.

Why Paul has decided to come out and say that is a bit nuts but i can see why.

On one hand he has stacked the pressure on his son and also possibly deterred a few potential suitors but on the other hand he is very aware that his son is gonna leave and he has a job on his hands to be successful at Blackpool.

In terms of comparing to Zaha i do reckon that Thomas is a better player but then again i am hugely bias and always want a big signing for the scum to fall flat on their faces!

Dont we get a third of whatever fee he goes for? if we get him for 8 million - great - if someone wants to bay that amount for him we have covered our fee for Coutinho by shipping Ince of fto blackpool.

If you had been asked at the time whether you wanted Countinho for the price of Ince leaving I know what I'd have said :)

Probably a little off of a comparison i make. When we bought Cisse and Chelsea bought Drogba, we bought the top scorer of the league with less money than Chelsea bought Drogba. Time proves Drogba went on to become a better performer than Cisse. My point is Ince may play better and may cost less but who's to say Zaha who cost a whopping more isn't going to perform better than Ince eventually? Until both start to play in the Premiership, the comparison have probably start too early.

That's not comparable. Abramovich had just taken over Chelsea back then, spend 140 million pounds that summer. And Drogba only signed a year earlier for Marseille, who were a big enough club to not sell for cheap and Chelsea grossly overpaid. Drogba also performed very well in Europe that year, I remember he lost the UEFA Cup final with Marseille against Rafa's Valencia that year. Auxerre wasn't that big a club, and untill this day that 15 million they got for Cissé is the highest transfer fee they ever recieved.

But everybody knows transfer fees don't accurately depict quality, there's other factors involved that influence transfer fees.
