Starting 11 for the first match of the new season

Now that most of the squad including four new players have reported back for the training for the new season, I can't wait for the new season to kick off. Rafa seems to rate all of them very highly, particularly Gonzales and Aurelio who he thinks can pass the ball better than Alonso. If so then we are in for a treat this season. With that in mind, who do you think will be in the starting 11 for our first competitive match? The following would be fine with me/

Think I'd have to agree with you there Naz, even though I don't like playin Gerrard on the right. We definitley need to sign a right midfielder, cos we're not gettin the best out of Stevie there are we? But having Aurelio and Gonzalez in the side would be a breath of fresh air wouldn't it?  

I'm getting excited just thinking about it i really really can't wait for the new season to start and to snot Chelsea on the 13th aug, shove your Shevchenko's and your Ballacks - yes Ballacks i said !! right up your ar*e.  Come on you mighty RED MEN.

I was a bit nervous when I heard Aug 13th was going to be Shield day before we'd even signed anyone. But now we've got Gonzalez, Auerlio, Paletta and Bellamy signed I'm counting down the days. The thing with Chelsea is, they've got all this money to buy all these players but half of them won't get to play... SWP barely gets picked... and as for Shevchenko, we all know how he crumbles against the Mighty Red Rafa's Army. A tad over-rated me thinks.  
So bring them on... The Mighty Red's vs The Dirty Cheatin Blues... I know who my money's on to win. But I'm bias.    

I reckon there'll be a mixture of the new and the established for the opening game, just to see how they all cope with the English game:

What we need to do is blood some of the new defensive players, as that is where too much strain has been put on the likes of Jamie and Sami in the past. Still need some right sided cover though. I'm sure Rafa will come up with a few signings before the big kick-off.
