Smith gone to Swann, great catch by Bell. Best of the series so far in my opinion.

Clarke getting caught in front by Broad.

6 down for the Aussies, still 270 behind. Possible follow on here.

      Siddle the latest to go.

Still 58 away from avoiding the following on, only 2 wickets left.

This is the Australia I know and love. Wouldn't enforce the follow on, would grind them into the dirt with the bat.

Last wicket has been the one we've struggled with though. Want to see us wrap this up quickly.

Feel sorry for Clarke, he seems a great captain. Just let down by substandard players.

Oh dear, 3 quick wickets lost.

      Dreadful from KP especially.

I'm happy to be corrected here, but it looked to me like the first 2 wickets had a touch of bad luck about them.

KP needs a wake up call or he could find himself out of the side.

      Good bowling from Siddle.

      Weird test match.

Can't wait for England to pie KP, can't stand him. Not just his personality but he seems to go through long spells of throwing his wicket away needlessly and cheaply.

I have talksport on satellite and listen to it constantly.

When they go for updates from the Ashes I listen and go  ???

Totally lost except when last week they seem to be pissed off about an Australian player that should of been out that stayed and continued to bat because the umpire missed the call.

Heard that one for 2 days but finally figured it out.

I think KP clearly gets too much leeway where others wouldn't. Too much like Beckham and England 10 years back or so. Shocking form that is inexcusable.

      Can't disagree.

      No chance.

Pietersen will never be out the side because he's still "England's best batsmen".

While I can't bare Pietersen the man or particularly rate Pietersen the batsmen that highly, I will say this for him - when people start questioning him he answers them with a great innings. So at either Old Trafford or Chester-le-Street he'll get a substantial century before another couple of 50s at the Oval.

What do people make of Joe Root and his potential? He's got a chance to make a name for himself tomorrow morning after a tough start to the series.

Joe is a good player with the potential to be very good to great, I just think it's unfair that's the first time he's been asked to open is the Ashes. Rather than exposing him at the top of the order here, they should of done it against New Zealand in my opinion. Get him used to opening in Test cricket in an easier environment than the Ashes.

This one's for our American friends struggling to understand the terminology.
Found on the BBC test page as I was looking at updates:
      Quote
Is night-watchman the most bewildering term to those for whom cricket is an alien concept? Does it conjure images of a man with a pillow and a teddy heading out for a night-long vigil by torchlight? Reverse swing is tough to explain, too. Yorkers and googlies have comic undertones. Battle of wills between Siddle and Root. Ball hung outside off stump, Root not fishing

Speaking of Lancs spinners, Simon Kerrigan is one man the England selectors should be keeping their eye on. 32 wickets at an average less than 20 already this season in the county championship. That's the most wickets of any spinner at the moment.

Bumble's just been talking about Keggsy on commentary with Shane Warne telling him his figures from Lancs last match against Glamorgan.

      1st innings 7/162.
2nd innings 5/90. (Glamorgan only last 5 wickets that innings as well by the way)

44 wickets this year at an average of 19.73.

Also makes him the joint leading wicket taker in the Division now and joint third in the whole country.

With the next Test being at Old Trafford, I reckon they should give Keggsy a go along with Swann. Go with the two spinners.

Would be great to see Root turn this into a 50 at least, been very solid this morning after that scare last night.
