At the moment that fixture list does not throw up any daunting run of games. For me the only back to back difficult game is the end of December when we face City and Chelsea back to back. Now obviously that can change depending on our form and the form of other clubs but thats a decent fixture list.

With no Europe and some potentially good business this summer could be a promising enough season

      August 17 Stoke City (H)
      24 Aston Villa (A)
      28 League Cup second round
      31 Manchester United (H)

In August we need to pick up at least 7 from 9 points

Surprise surprise we play the Mancs at Anfield while Suarez is banned, if he's still here.

      Didn't think about that actually.

Not the worst start either, at least we're at home first anyways.

Funny, the first thing I realised is we play the League Cup game between Villa and Mancs game. If we are taking the cups seriously, which I hope we do, that could prove difficult so early in the season.

Happy with the way the rest of the fixtures are, although some are open to changes depending on European games etc etc. The Christmas period is obviously difficult but we have to prove ourselves. Can the season please start now!!!!

So we kick off at home against Mark Hughes' Stoke. I can live with that.

Mancs in the mix of the first six PL games, hopefully a spanking for Moyes & co. ;)

Happy with Stoke on the opening day, also a good time to play Utd in the first 3 games.

Notice we start and finish at home as well..

As King Kenny said, in the end, we play every team twice, so when we play them, whilst nice to know, doesnt matter in the great scheme of things.

That said, happy to start and finish at home, and have the mancs at home for game 3. Christmas games are a bit brutal - but how often have we screwed up these with "easier" games (hello Aston Vila....)

and as a tradionalist - so nice to see FA Cup final as last game of season

      Thanks for that H_R.

Those of us that pointed out how difficult our start was last year can't be too worried by this... on paper anyhow. I'm content with that start.

Expecting no less than 8 pts in first 4 games. I think we will beat Stoke and Man Utd as we are due a win vs Utd but big game for both clubs especially Moyes. Draws against Villa and Swansea but i think we wont get beat in any of them.

I knew it was going to be Stoke, was expecting it to be away though. But that's not a bad start to have. Hopefully we can go into the tough Christmas period with some momentum, that's going to be crucial.

I don't think the run in is as easy as some think. When you consider there is the chance we could have several new players, no Luis (whether it be through ban or having been sold) and the fact that there are no easy games in the Premiership, I see all the games as being a big test.

Play our cards right and we could be sitting on top of the league after 10 games.

So that manc game will either be a 12.45pm on the 31st or a 1.30pm kick off the following day.

I wonder what other games will get moved for Sky/tv etc!

Oh we really all do forget.......

We finished 7th last year.. After 10 games we had 11 points (i think)

Lets just win the first one. Everyone plays the same teams.

Playing the scum is better with Luis in the team than not. Playing teams during their losses of form or injury crisis or fixture pile up is better for us than when they have everyone fit and available with decent rest.

That said, I'm happy enough with our list, barring the early home game against the mancs. Hate playing them at home first, and especially early on. Happy to be at home first and last, for the first time in 10 years, and against the same opposition in the last game at home as 10 years ago, GH's last game in charge.

      I'm happy with the fixtures.

Apart from the scum we should play ourselves into reasonable form with all the changes we are making (if the transfer gossip is to be believed) before we hit November and December when the games get a bit (lot) more difficult.

The Scum's start is as shitty as ours was last season.  They could have a new manager by end of
      September.

Opening and closing at home (or at Wembley).

We could, and should, pick up a large amount of points heading into December.
