      2013/2014 Premier League Fixture List
      Jun 11, 2013 04:29:54 pm
Just a week to go until the 2013/2014 fixture list is unveiled, with this key yearly regularity being under estimated by most.
      http://www.premierleague.com/content/premierleague/en-gb/fans/faqs/when-are-the-fixtures-compiled.html

When are the Premier League fixtures announced?
The fixture list will be confirmed on Wednesday 19 June at 9:00am.

The first set of changes take place when television companies select the first group of matches they would like to screen live. This usually happens within two – three weeks of the original list coming out. At around the same time, the clubs that are playing in Europe will examine the list to see if there are any matches which need to be moved. Once teams progress to the later rounds of the other cup competitions, League fixtures can be altered. In this instance we always consult with the local police and the clubs concerned.

Do i find it a surprise we had one of the worst opening starts of a season during the last campaign when we had a new manager in the summer and faced Arsenal, Citee and United within the first 5 games of the season? This lovely FA arrangement also became the catalyst of the most retorted line surrounding our beloved club last year; "Liverpool have not beaten one of the top 6 teams this season".

So with the tables turned, do i see Moyes having to shuttle his troops down the M62 to Anfield on 17th August 2013? Don't be stupid its United we're talking about, who will undoubtedly have Hull at home to allow Golem to ease nicely into his role.

So banter/bickering aside, who will be our first casualty this year?

I'm going for a trip down St Mary's to be our first fixture. (Southampton Away)

      Thoughts?

Bet we get the chavs in the first month but first fixture will probably be away against someone like Fulham.

A home game against Cardiff would be nice. Beller's could do a book signing before the game.

Unless Man Utd are willing to drop down a division to do that then I think we're alright with that!

Would be nice to open up with a home fixture period, not sure what the record is but i think we have had 1 (maybe 2) home openers in the last 10 years from what i can remember. So important to start the season quickly so couple of very winnable matches at home in the first couple of games would be just the ticket.

Tricky away game for sure, probably a team with a new manager or one of the recently promoted teams.

Do you seriously think the FA gave us a hard run at the start of last season on purpose?

I've never been one to look at the fixture list too much before the season starts. I usually take each game as it comes. Must admit, I do look at the first fixture and for the first United and Everton game.

Its not the FA that decide the fixtures its the Premier League. The FA are the governing body of the national game the EPL are one league in the national game , both are distinctly different organisations.

I am going for Swansea first game away from home.

What the EPL and sky will hope is that Suarez stays and then they can hype up his return with a massive match against either the Chavs or against Golem and his croonies

I always look to see when we play the bitters. Love derby days!

It can always be reversed to say get the toughest games out of the way first and then try to go on a winning run of games.

There's no easy games these days and when we're having a bad day, we need to pull a scrappy one nil win out of the bag. That requires a good defence.

We'll be at Anfield, as we seem to switch every season. I'm going to go ahead and guess Newcastle.

Add ManUre to that. The FA will want to make sure that (assuming he's still here), we play them when Luis is suspended still.
